I can see advantages for this.  Sometimes the subbie is out of hearing range so neither hears me whistle or the bell.  Press button and summon subbie.   Also has potential for edging.

Now the big question I have to find out is do they do a version with a rear insert for male subbies to wear under their pretty dresses.  Because there's no point it being forward facing when they're in something like a CB-3000 ya know?

And I second FatMason: need more info about cleaning it up.

neongoats: I mean, it's not like a new concept. Other than the controlling it by smartphone bit.

I guess I just don't get the big negative spin by the article. Like orgasm devices are a waste of precious R&D resources that could have been used to save the endangered pea shrew.

It's Gizmodo.  If it's quirky and not aimed at the mainstream they generally hate it.  If it's from Apple they'll write the article with an undertone of 'Apple sucks'... because they brought a stolen iPhone prototype and were called on it.

Gizmodo, whilst rich enough to buy Fark are one of the scummiest sites on the internet... in fact the top 10 list features the whole of the Gawker network.

An Apple employee lost an Iphone prototype after getting boozed up, someone found it, and then sold it to Gizmodo, hardly stolen.  Though Apple went gestapo on Gizmodo and despite there being an law in Califnornia saying that a person who is guilting of receiving property they know is not theirs is guilty of theft.

The DA threw it out saying their was not enough evidence and this was tempered by the fact Apple got the fuzz to do what could have been construed as an illegal search.

Gizmodo sucks but Apple sucks harder.

They were well aware that what they were buying wasn't that persons to sell.  Especially after the CEO of the company asked them to give it back.   It makes the whole thing morally and legally dubious at best, receipt and handling of stolen goods at worst.  We have similar laws here in the UK.

After all an iPhone isn't worth $50k so yeah, they knew just how hot it was.
