Yeah, Rodgers really could stand to bring a couple of his stats up to Tony's level. You know, like yards per game.

I might never forget your (100% serious) claim that Ruh-roh was the second-best QB in the NFL based on his QB rating after something like 3 weeks of the '09 (?) season. Truly one of the funniest things I've ever seen on the innerwebs.

2012 Stats

Touchdowns
Rodgers 39
Romo 28

Interceptions
Rodgers 8
Romo 19

Yeah, Romo can keep the ypg stat. It's fine.

It's not fair to compare yards per game.

Here Tony throws a pick six and that gives him the ball right back.  Plus now, they are losing so they have to throw.

Hm, I don't recall saying that. Are you sure I didn't say he was the 2nd in [whatever stat]? 2009.... That was the season we went 13-3. Very good chance his numbers were pretty high. Either way, 4 years is a long time to hold onto something a stranger said on the Internet.

To be fair, the Cowboys came in at the bottom of the league in basically every stat but passing last year, and still finished 8-8. And it wasn't because of their 31st ranked running game or their 23rd ranked defense.

It was damn funny. You were literally arguing that Tony Romo was at that time the second-best QB in all of the NFL based on his QB rating after 3 or 4 weeks of that particular season. You were dead serious, and hung on to that bone like you were going to starve if it left your teeth. Hilarious, and that's when I stopped even reading your mess.

I mean, if you have to blame a QB in Dallas... dammit Orton.

Anyway, people are happy to blame Romo for not winning Super Bowls, and for the idiot Cowboys fans locally who can't help but compare Tony to a guy with 3 rings playing on what was probably the most hilariously overloaded team of all time, it's an easy thing to knock him for.

But the only way the Cowboys get to the playoffs last year (and do anything but lose in the first round) is if the rest of the Cowboys provided any help at all. But they didn't. So every game came down to whether or not Romo could throw them out of a shootout. And they won 8 games.

Based on his QB rating, Tony might have been the 2nd best QB in the NFL in 2009. That's what "based on" means.

TONY ROMO HAS FEELINGS TOO, YA KNOW AND TRIES REALLY REALLY HARD BUT SOMETIMES HE JUST, JUST....CAN'T!

WHY CAN'T YOU ALL JUST LEAVE MY BEST FRIEND ALONE?!?

So I guess you haven't changed in the past 4 years at all? You don't think anyone is capable of growing & learning? I'm not the same person I was in 2009. But if it helps you feel better about yourself, then continue on with your hate. If you want to have a conversation about football, that's cool. I'm not really down with personal insults, though. I haven't said anything in this thread that was incorrect & there's really no reason to call me stupid over a thread from 4 years ago.

Also, I think what a lot of people are missing in the deal that Romo made is that he did get a new contract, but it was structured in a way that made cap room for the upcoming season. Seems like all you want to do is see a big number & immediately be incensed about it, but frankly, you probably don't know jack squat about it. I don't know where Rodgers is in his current contract. I'm sure his payday is coming.

Another stat: pass completion percentage for last year
67.2 for Rodgers
65.6 for Romo

That makes Rodgers 3rd in the league & Romo 4th. OOOOH WHAT A BIG DIFFERENCE

Anyway. Making the case for Rodgers to get paid is easy. There's really no reason to insult someone else to do it. PFM is lame. Maybe they can write another facebook thread or something.

Name a better long term option for the Cowboys at QB. Romo gets way too much crap for a guy with top 10 stats every year. The rest of the team is old garbage. Hell if he was the Vikings QB, I'd be happy!

I really don't think some packers fans have forgiven Rodgers for running favre out of town.

As for Romo... Well... The guy is technically a good quarterback, he just carries the failure gene that shows itself at all the wrong times.

I'd love to see the cowboys build a running game and the right side of their offensive line, but you know they would still throw the ball 50 times a game just to keep Jerry happy

First off, Romo is terrible, Dallas is a hive of scum and villany, and fans of the cowboys deserve to follow a terrible team to annual disappointment without end.

Secondly, Rodgers is the sole reason to respect the Packers. Yeah, even without Jennings they have some WR talent, but let's secretly replace Rodgers with any of the QB's in the NFC North, and watch the Pack win 5 games.

If Flacco is worth $120, Rodgers is worth $154.3.

/I just made that number up, but my point is that he's worth more to the Pack than Flacco is to the Ravens.

I get that QB's want to be compensated for their skills, but where is the tipping point when 1 guy on the team is eating 15-20% of the salary cap.

Alright, that's cool if you want to talk about your feelings. But I think most of our sports discussions are about making a case with numbers, statistics, & the occasional dizzying graph. Or at least they should be. Example:

Feelings: I hate the Redskins & I hope they lose forever.
Facts: RG3 has some good numbers & will be a good QB as long as he remains in one piece.

See? Anyone can do objective analysis! It's fun!
