So, an unofficial remake of the Joe Piscopo-Treat Williams unintentional-hilarity-fest "Dead Heat?"

At least that had poor, slumming Vincenzo Price to  class the joint up some with his presence.

What does this one have to compare?

Sounds fun, why not!

Marisa Miller has two very effective points of comparison.

/And James Hong!

So that's what Rooster Cogburn's been doing since he died.

Wow, you weren't kidding, subby.

It's like they took the MiB script and crossed out every mention of the word "aliens" and replaced it with "dead people"

It even looks like MiB.

This.

Probably still see it.

The blonde made things tingle.

I have infamously low standards and can watch anything and enjoy it... and this looks like shiat.

2013-04-18 04:33:39 PM
That looks absolutely terrible.

I look forward to seeing it.

Jeff Bridges appears to jump a shark at some point in this trailer.

Men in Black 3 was good.

So it's GhostBusters meets Ghost Rider meets Tombstone meets Hellboy meets M.I.B?

That's a lot of meetings.

And despite my cynicism I still think it looks like a good movie.

looks like good brainless popcorn munching cider-chugging fun.

why yes, i do sneak cider into the theaters. when the movie looks worth it.

More of this.
If your movie is nothing more than an excuse to put a bunch of cool-looking shiat on film, Jeff Bridges as a badass sheriff is a good place to start.

Looks like fun, and it's based on a comic book, so before you go yelling "Hollywood has run out of ideas," keep in mind that it's the comic book authors who have run out of ideas, and in reality, didn't that happen 60 or so years ago?

2013-04-18 05:15:18 PM
Looks fun, I'm in for a rental from a redbox once its there.  (or netflix, which-ever beats the other)

2013-04-18 05:19:41 PM
I hope it makes it onto Netflix soon.  It looks like fun, but not worth the hassle of going to a theater to see it.

No, I avoided more serious darker shows/movies because it looked more like a comedy, otherwise I would have mentioned Brimstone as well

2013-04-18 05:43:03 PM
"Might notice we're purdy durable."   LOL    I'll go to see it.  I mean, come on, Jeff Bridges AND Ryan Reynolds onscreen together?  Yep. That's my kind of man-candy movie right there...

The Frighteners was "dark"?

Not midnight dark more dusk dark. It was about a serial killer murdering people from beyond the grave.

wasn't light, that's for sure. had some pretty creepy shiat going down.

Nice to see The Dude still has his comedic chops.  Now if they'd just re-make Airplane with him in his dad's role....

/and yes that is the ONLY WAY that Airplane should be remade!
//Harrison Ford as Rex Cramer and, oh what the Hell, Brandon Routh as Ted Striker

2013-04-18 06:23:03 PM
Holy shiat, that looks... terrible. "MIB, but with ghosts, bad CGI, implausible scenarios, and stupid faux-stunts with ancient actors" was the best Hollywood could do? Really? At best, it's a Netflix view while I'm gaming.

Damn, the latest crop of movie ideas really screams "WE'VE RUN OUT OF STUFF TO DO!", doesn't it?

2013-04-18 06:24:01 PM
So basically they figured out a way to use the MIB formula, with new actors, without treading on turf already established by MIB, or disrespecting it's fans?  Fantastic, count me in!  I loved MIB, and this looks fun!

/And a crossover, now that would be a thing of beauty.

2013-04-18 07:05:40 PM
Looks like the script to the newest Ghostbusters. I bet that's what it was.

2013-04-18 07:08:10 PM
"mib" formula?
lol

dude, that's an old WEST story... Wild Wild West

2013-04-18 07:32:36 PM
Don't care for Reynolds, but I'll see it for a kick-ass Bridges.  Don't care if it's MiB-esque, looks stupidly fun.

2013-04-18 07:44:53 PM
Accidentally walked onto the set while they were filming car stunts in downtown Boston about a year ago.

Looked fun, lots of boxy Chevy Caprices doing all sorts of things Chevy Caprices are not known for doing, such as wheel stands, etc. etc.

Lots of hydraulic rams, the best was seeing one effects guy making a pristine Caprice look like a recently smashed one by using a large sledgehammer.

DP on set was awesome and chatted up a storm.

2013-04-18 08:07:11 PM
I'm predisposed to like Ryan Reynolds.  I'll see this.

/Damn you 'Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place'.

True Grit meets Men In Black?  I'll probably watch it.

2013-04-18 09:17:38 PM
I honestly dont even know if i believe that isnt a spoof trailer. Like something that would show at the oscars or something.

2013-04-18 09:28:33 PM
Anybody else get the vibe that Bridges was playing General Custer, and has been on the force for a very long time...?

2013-04-18 10:27:36 PM
I'll check it out on blueray.  Going to the theater for OBLIVION!

And added just a tad 'Quantum Leap'

This is the first time in 9 years I've seen a preview clip on Fark of a movie that I actually want to see.

Comedies are hard to judge from a trailer; sometimes the trailer for a good movie stinks because they don't wanna spoil the jokes for the movie (Hot Fuzz is a good example), sometimes the trailer for a crappy comedy is very funny because they use every decent joke in the film in it (This Is 40 suuuucked).

So yeah; this looks funny but if it's shiat it won't be surprising.

Terrible. My kind of movie.

Oh good, Jeff Bridges using his Bad Bart voice again (or whatever that old drunk country singer character was named).

Pass.

sure haven't: Oh good, Jeff Bridges using his Bad Bart voice again (or whatever that old drunk country singer character was named).

I think it was "Ol' Marblemouth".

It was a story about a guy who tried to gloss over his mediocre acting ability with a gravelly, slurring cowboy accent.

No, wait...that was True Grit

2013-04-19 08:47:09 PM
It could be funny.  I am not a huge fan of this type of movie but if I want to turn off my brain and just exist to be entertained for a couple of hours it could be OK.
