But keep making fun of the USA's almost obsessive protection of free speech rights because the alternative never ends up being silly or causing problems.

Traffic cones are not there to be kicked. His moral disgrace affects all of society, especially hurting women and children.

I should say.  A true gentleman would NEVER kick a traffic cone.  That's a safety device, you shouldn't mess with safety devices.

I wonder if KBS was paid to do this ban so that it increases the talk about this video and gets more people to watch it.

Government-mandated morality is farked here in SK. They blur out cigarettes and knives on TV. They had that Gerard Butler movie where he slashes a guy's throat out in a jail cell and it sprays everywhere. Blurred out the cut itself, but left the gore on the wall alone completely.

PSY's new single seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way.

So is this the new thing with news story pictures? A tag with a number in front of the subject's face so that I can't see who I'm looking at, but I can hover over it and either get a caption that would have fit just fine at the bottom of the picture, or some stupid "joke" that nobody actually thinks is funny?

Okay, let me get this straight:

One can't kick a traffic cone in a music video.

However, in that same video one  can fart on one's finger and put it under someone's nose.

South Korea is WEIRD.

2013-04-18 12:39:35 PM
Like computer games, it's a slippery slope. Using undiscovered evidence, studies show that the brainwaves produced by kicking a traffic cone are the same as those produced by chopping up children with a chainsaw.

Yes, those crazy Koreans.   What a weird, oppressive culture.    Could you imagine the US completely losing their shizz  over something completely silly and benign, and the government removing stuff all over the public airwaves that anyone might find the least bit offensive of distasteful?

I watched it. He's going on momentum now. It's too obvious and doesn't have the 'WTF is this' quality of Gangham Style.

2013-04-18 12:47:11 PM
Boy If South Korea can't handle traffic cones being kicked they're really going to hate it when bombs fly over the border and destroy all their streets.

2013-04-18 12:50:50 PM
I don't think my brain or ears can handle another onslaught of whatever his next retarded hit will be.  I hope they ban everything he touches for the next twenty years.

/Hearing Gangham Style once or twice an hour every day on the radio which I cannot control for months has driven me insane.

2013-04-18 12:54:23 PM
Then they REALLY don;t want to see what he does to the cone at the end of the video during the sort of "outtakes".

Srsly.

Puritans here in the US. Kill everything. Pillage all. Fornicate? HEATHEN!

Government-mandated morality is farked everywhere that has it. Korea is not unique in that regard.

/see also the US, where the FCC's job has shifted from "regulating the technical standards of how stuff gets broadcast over public airwaves, antennae used for radio/TV transmissions, wavelength spectrum for public use, etc." to "censorship bureau"
//and the shift was so gradual that by the time anyone noticed, it was far too late to do anything about it

Seems like some of the crazy is leaking out of best Korea to the worst Korea.  Must have something to do with wind direction.  I blame Global Warming.

To be fair, you could record the noises you make while on the toilet after a night of heavy drinking and Taco Bell, and that would be better than Harlem Shake.
