Somacandra: FTFA: the Investigative Project on Terrorism's Steve Emerson...based his information on a number of his confidential sources. "I just learned from my own sources that he is now going to be deported on national security grounds next Tuesday," Emerson said.

[i.imgur.com image 407x274]

I wouldn't trust anything Steve Emerson says without open sources to back him up. He's a major self-styled "terrorism expert" with lots of foundation money to back him up and no real training or expertise. His organization was profiled in "Fear, Inc."

He has been studying terrorist organizations for 20 years. He runs the largest private counterterrorism think tank in the United States. Name an organization inside the US that doesn't work for uncle sam that has more expertise than that?

BTW, "national security grounds" probably means he is in the country on an expired visa. Not really worth commenting on.

His expertise apparently is in NAMBLA.but that just doesn't sell these days.

No, nor do self done facial chemical peels apparently.

Do people really think we would catch the guy responsible for this and just let him go because the President is a democrat. I mean you'd have to keep hundreds of people quite about it. It's not even close to plausible.

You notice that at the end of the article they say that Emerson's claims have not been verified? And also Emerson says that this is according to his sources. I wonder if his source is Pam Geller.

I've heard the right-wing media say that stuff too.

MFK: SlothB77: the NYPost is already on to two other dark-skinned young males, the blue tracksuit guy and his friend in the white hat, who are persons of interest, but not the actual bombers.

http://www.reddit.com/r/findbostonbombers/comments/1cl3cj/blue_track su it_guy_identifiedends_up_being_a/

if you click the link, it redirects to a photo.  you have to copy the url and paste it in your browser to pull up the comments page i am trying to link to.

People have found blue tracksuit guy's facebook page and apparently it is a SHOW.

these two guys are locals. They are running enthusiasts, not terrorists. One of them coaches little kids. Truly they are monstors. This is the problem with crowd sourcing this shiat. Instead of working together to look for clues, people just do a where's waldo with the brown guys in the picture and then go on a witch hunt. Reddit and 4chan should be ashamed of themselves - they just created two more victims.

I'm sure everyone in yesterday's thread who insisted you could tell they had malevolent intent on account of having obviously prepared exactly like every other runner support group, while looking vaguely Persian, will be prompt to come in here and acknowledge you can tell in the "no bag" pictures, he obviously had a bag in front of him, like the big doofy white guy who they picked out for carrying his bag oddly.

All we really conclusively proved yesterday with crowdsourcing is that Reddit and 4chan, as a group, is fairly rude with their backpacks in large crowds.

kronicfeld: airsupport: WTF does that word mean in that context?

Disaster, debacle, ridiculous, fiasco, etc.

correct.

serial_crusher: Is that even the same white hat guy in both those pictures? He's wearing a different shirt.

No.  The reporting quality of the NYPost is getting worse, if possible.  They didn't even publish the picture where you could see white hat guy's backpack visible.  Blue tracksuit is with white hat guy with the sunglasses on top of his white hat in several pictures.  But the guy wearing the white cap with the thicker sweater in the second picture looks different and may be someone he doesn't even know, though it does appear the both are talking in that photo.

Mr Guy: the big doofy white guy who they picked out for carrying his bag oddly

The big doofy white guy is carrying a bag which appears to match one of those which exploded and appears to have a Fox logo (as per the zipper tag.) The two other guys seem to have been selected principally owing to their not being melanin impaired. Which is nice.

2013-04-18 09:54:41 AM
Well, if Steve Emmerson says it on Fox, then we know it must be true because he is a terrorism expert who has never been wrong. He figured it out that it was Islamists who bombed the Murrah Federal Building, when the amateurs got locked in on some kid named Timothy McVeigh.

I'm not worried about Al Qaeda on this one. I'm with Chris Rock and going with Al Cracker.

Not to mention idiotic.

And if I were him, I'd accept that deportation with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.  Assuming that he was innocent, I feel for that dude.  I would hate to have traveled halfway around the world to the US and show up at the ONE EFFING TERRORIST EXPLOSION of the year.  That poor schmuck must have thought he was Cuba-bound for sure.

Also running away from a bomb while brown, which apparently is a suspicious activity.

Yeah, but seriously, "appears to match" covers 90% of the backpacks sold in this country, at least at that distance, resolution, and angle.  That's why it was so easy to find nearly 15 to 20 people all "possibles" with dang near the same bag, plus or minus decorative reflective stitching and brand logos.

You know, if this guy moved to Pakistan and then went on Al-Jazeera proclaiming that not only did he do it, but he tricked the US government into helping him flee the country afterward, he'd become one of the biggest celebrities since Osama bin Laden.

As long as we're pulling ideas out of our ass, I'm betting the guy is from east Africa. Like Somalia. They're probably a little mad at us for supporting Ethiopia during that war no one talks about and they don't have the resources or expertise al queefa has.

Even if he had nothing to do with the bombing they probably just found out he overstayed his visa and wasn't in the country legally. What's the big deal?  If your presence here is not legal, and you come to the attention of the authorities, you may get deported. This is surprising to people?

This is about as credible as reposting Twitter rumors as "news."

make me some tea: Tea Party Nation is in full conspiracy mode.
http://www.teapartynation.com/forum/topics/questions-that-must-be-an sw ered-now

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Think of sandy hook.....at first the ar was found in the trunk of the car and they claimed he used pistols, then they say the ar was used to kill the kids and it was a shotgun that was found in the car....then the coroner says all the bullets stayed within the victims which makes it sound like hollow point rounds from pistols because rifle rounds will go through 20 inches of ballistic gelatin let alone an 8 inch thick torso of an adolescent.

Sometimes things don't make sense but we have to believe them because they come from an official involved in the investigation and who are we to question their knowledge and authority.

It doesn't matter that this doesn't appear at the moment to be foreign terrorism.  Conservatives prefer to hip-check blame Muslims when something happens.
