This has to be one of the poorest uses of the Hero tag ever.  Yes, it's nice that Bruins fans sang the National Anthem.  Heroic?  Oh, please.

Really, the "Hero" tag because a bunch of people sang along with the national anthem at a sporting event, which is what half the fans do at every other sporting event anyway?

it happens more often in Canada. Hockey is our sport.

More often is not "all the time".  Yes I am aware hockey is popular in Canada.  Also aware that college football is popular in the South

Muta: jaylectricity: Actually, I just heard the replay and the announcer said, "Sing loudly along with Rene Rancourt" so it was to be expected.

They do this all the time in Canada without prompting from the announcer.  It is pretty cool.

No they don't

Thanks!

Completely ignored subplot:

Because the game between the Pacers and Celtics was canceled, rather than rescheduled, the Pacers clinched the 3 seed, which means that the Nets have to play Chicago in the first round, and if they make it through that, they have to play Miami in the second round.

If the Pacers had lost that game, then the Nets would have tied them, and by virtue of their 3-0 record against the Pacers during the season, they'd have the 3 seed, which means the Hawks in the first round and they miss the Heat until the ECF assuming both teams make it that far.

Not that it's a guarantee the Celtics beat the Pacers, but for the NBA to completely eliminate the possibility for the Nets is pretty f*cked up.

You are incorrect sir.  The game was cancelled because it didn't matter and wouldn't impact standings.  Read a little.

MugzyBrown: Maybe I'm cynical, but having lived through 9/11, Katrina, London, Madrid, Bali, etc, etc etc, I don't get the "national tragedy" feeling here.

Because your obviously becoming too desensitized to death by terrorist (foreign or domestic)?

Because kids were farking killed and lost limbs and if it makes people feel better to sing the national anthem of their country then why the fark not? What ELSE are they supposed to do?

Because America, Fark yeah?
