ottosmom: But did he wear underwear?

Was there basically a male version of the Katy Perry pick? Was Elmo used for it as well?

Hamm is awesome. I would have loved it even more if he did it as Don Draper (scotch in hand, cigarette, existential dilemma, etc.).

I don't want to piss anyone off, but I actually don't have a problem with Jon Hamm.  He seems cool and funny and nice.

On the other hand, Justin Bieber is still better.

You should check out his monologue from SNL a couple of years ago. Basically Don Draper on Saved by the Bell, QVC, and Def Comedy Jam.

I don't think you're pissing anyone off. I'm pretty sure most Farkers think that he is pretty awesome. I sure do. He is an actor that truly deserves his success. He's had to work his ass off for everything he has and he seems to be the better for it. I like to read biographies, interviews, whatever is around so I get a bit of understanding about people. He really stands out as a guy you'd actually like if you met him.

Ivo Shandor:

What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs
Rolls over your neighbor's dog?
What's great for a snack and fits on your back?
It's Log, Log, Log!

It's Log, Log, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's Log, Log, it's better than bad, it's good!
Everyone wants a log! You're gonna love it, Log!
Come on and get your log! Everyone needs a Log!

I didn't have the lyrics perfect, but goddamn I got it at 98%. I really can't believe after 22 years I remeber that song. I can't even tell you what song was played at my wedding when I danced with my wife.

Well, it was better than his original idea to go as Dong Draper.

First off... Alfie and Abner

Banjo!

Second... Jon Hamm pisses me off to no end.  Man makes panties drop at 1000 yards, and he seems like a really cool dude and plays one of the most awesome characters in the history of TV.  Fark him sideways.

=) Nope, I'm good. This isn't Facebook, Pinterest, or something Real Housewives oriented.

She knows I don't remember it. I think hard and know it's Adele or something. I finally caved in and let her choose it. I ended up handling the music, so later I put in, "Goodbye Horses," while giving a speech and proceeded to reenact the scene from Silence of the Lambs. In clothes of course.

Wow, I was taking from that comment that your wedding song was from 20 years ago as well.... Adele, you are dating it back maybe 2 years.

Whatch Don Draper quietly persuade the loveable Seame Street gang to leave the whole "friends, kids, love and family" schtick behind, and instead hook up with a good, souless marketing team that will position them for future sponsorships with an edge, becasue that other stuff is for suckers with hearts and doesn't get transitioned into a tv series in the bright new millenium.

I chuckled I little bit out loud at that headline.

Jon Hamm is not a chain-smoking, hard-drinking, pot-toking, serial-philandering, identity-thieving deserter, he just plays one on teevee.  Nevertheless, cue the conservative outrage in 3...2...

That's debatable.  He has the trappings, and he seems to have lost his moral code in regards to his personal life.  But he does hold a pretty firm set of values and morality in his business life--which would disqualify him from being a true republican.

I loathe Elmo. He is the fuzzyred personification of the pussification of Sesame Street.

Fer chrissake, the DVD sets of the first couple seasons actually have parental warnings, because they didn't treat kids like kids, but as equals.

"Mommy, what's a hernia? "

That actually was still Kevin Clash. That segment was filmed a year ago. I happen to know this because I personally sculpted the three hand props that Jon Hamm brings over. There is a fairly involved behind the scenes story, but suffice it to say Mr. Hamm wouldn't get a hernia from those props because each weighed less than 2 lbs. they were sculpted that way on purpose.
It was actually funny for my wife ( Babyhole, so technically I'm Mr. Babyhole rofl) and I too watch him "struggle with the weight" thinking back to how light they were.

I don't get star struck, but I am still so proud to say I worked on that show in particular.
(and Bill Nye! He's awesome!)
Most stuff for kids is cookie-cutter trash marketing.
I cast a nostaglic eye on the toys and marketing of the past, but really it was almost always that way.

/we could so work on that.
//give a kid a copy of the Phantom Tollbooth, willya?
