What if they have to crap together and he sees her hoo-ha get infected? Won't that completely demoralize him?

I'm glad Mrs. Sullivan's sons have already been mentioned.

/Navy no longer lets siblings serve on the same ship.

Ah yes, the OH-58D, the most worthless helicopter that the Army keeps wasting money on. They're too slow to be of any use as forward recon for the Apaches and irrelevant since the introduction of the Longbow.

Makes me think of Joshua Chamberlain and his brother, who he kept telling to stand some ways away so they wouldn't be killed by the same cannonball, thus might avert "a hard day for Mother".

Will be it be awkward when some village elder offers him a small herd of camels and three acres of poppy seeds because his eldest sone is smitten with American women?

It's going to be awkward when they get deployed and 3 months in she lets the unit run a train on her.

No, I'd take a bunch of people I don't like much and barely know. A whole great lot of them.

If this was a movie, one of them would be KIA somewhere around the end of the fourth act.

It's war, though, not a movie. So both of them are gonna be KIA.

Miranda Mogg: "If you're going to go to war, you should go with people you know"

Isn't that the exact opposite of what you should do?  People die in war, and being too attached to someone can be problematic.

Those a***oles shouldn't have the *money* to fight any wars. All foreign wars should be paid with war bonds - like World War Two - or not fought at all. All of this bulls**t overseas dick-waving / "l'm Bush/Obama look what a big man I am" crap would end pretty quickly if military expenses had to be paid voluntarily by the tax payers.

About December, 2001, Bin Laden left Kandahar. Early 2002, US forces had OBL pinned down in Tora Bora. Bush passed on sending reinforcements. Soon, thereafter, OBL left for Pakistan. OBL was killed in Pakistan, May, 2011. Question: what in hell's name have we been doing anywhere near Afghanistan for the last 11 years? Follow-up: why are we still sending people to die and be mamed there?

Because those who can help should.

It's easy to forget we are currently at war. Isn't it.
