I think the big story to come out of this is that Paul Hogan had so much cash.

There is no way in hell he made it all from film.

Motherfarker must have done some good investing.

Not directly from the film but it made enough of an impact that he was able to milk it for a good while.

Not to mention being the face of Australia's tourism ads for a good decade or so. For a time in the 80's and early 90's, he was the first thing in many people's minds when they heard the name Australia.

How did he survive that sting ray stabbing?

Stealing from a tax cheat? Sounds like poetic justice to me.

A dingo ate my money.

Story is good enough for me to link to a NSFW pic of Mrs Crocodile Dundee. Humina humina!

Holy hell, not only did he have $34 million to go missing, he paid back a $150 million tax debt.

Great.  If more people had their offshore accounts emptied maybe they would pay their taxes and just enjoy being rich.

FTA: he hid away in an offshore tax haven

An?  As in 'one'?  All $34,000,000?

Yeah, but it was in Aussie dollars, which are worth like $0.07 Canadian.

That was Greg Norman.

Not only that, but he was the producer of all the CROCODILE DUNDEE films, so he got a big slice of a $325 million
dollar pie.  And that's in 1980s dollars, which probably translates to upwards of half a billion in today's watered down
ducats.

Good lord, being Paul Hogan is cooler than previously imagined. I mean I assumed he was rich but not Romney rich.

2013-04-17 08:37:39 PM
So, does that mean we get a Crocodile Dundee 3?

2013-04-17 08:38:37 PM
Paul Hogan is just a Benny Hill rip off  http://youtu.be/pX6MtWRGW3M

When did he start making movies?

According to the article we did.

However it looks like it decided not to use 3 in the title

It's a needed pick-me-up for this week.
Heh. Rich people screwing over other rich people instead of poor people for once. I like it.

I got zero sympathy for peopel who lose their money while trying to hide from taxes in their home country...

Call me crazy but if I had millions from a movie I would just bank the money and not dick around with investments or tax dodges. The principal alone is still more than enough to live it up for the rest of your life if you buy a moderately nice home and a car or two. But hey that's just crazy talk.
