Christ, what a republican.

This douchenozzle's gasbagging aside, this is actually a good idea, so long as the bill contains a provision mandating that the same information be clearly and accessibly posted on some suitable public website.

I mean, come on...who the fark gets a paper anymore? It's an outdated law, that needs repeal and updating. Save time, effort, and money, and go digital with these sorts of notices. That way, instead of being buried in column 25 of page 9 of the Local & State section of the hometown paper, that notice of a rezoning hearing will be buried 3/4ths of the way down the 'notices' page on ncstate.gov/counties/whatevercounty/ordinances/proposed.htm or whatever.

/ someone still needs to recall HIS ass though

Aaaand Bobby Jindal's impassioned plea for the GOP to "stop being the 'Stupid Party'" continues to fall on deaf ears.......

FTA:  The Charlotte Observer reported that three other people in the room had confirmed Tucker's statement; but Tucker told the News and Observer that was not his remark and that Tanner had slighted the committee's integrity, and he had taken it "personally." Tucker said that he told Tanner, "I'm the senator here, let me finish."

Translation: "How dare you question me, ignorant peasant!"

To be fair, this is what I hear every time a Republican moves their lips.

I hope he is reminded on election day

So, when the current law says public notices have to be made "in print", that's referring to the newspapers right? Not a sheet of paper stapled to the courthouse door?

Seems understandable that a newspaper reporter would be upset at losing that government gravy boat.

The Charlotte Observer should start referring to him as "Future Former State Senator."

You're the Senator, I'm the Citizen.  You're the public servant, I'm the public.  Now serve, asshole.

2013-04-17 04:53:21 PM
I think the current law actually states that notices will be on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.

A State and Local Government Committee of the state Senate held a meeting on legislation to allow county and municipal governments to publish public notices only on their websites became heated when a local newspaper publisher sought a recorded vote on the bill, the Raleigh News and Observer reported. Hal Tanner, publisher of the Goldsboro News-Argus, had argued that a voice vote showed the bill failing by one vote, while committee co-chairman Sen. Tommy Tucker (R-Waxhaw) said the bill had passed and the rules did not allow for a recorded vote. During the dispute with Tanner, Tucker proceeded to tell the publisher that it was not his place to comment.

"I am the senator, you are the citizen. You need to be quiet," Tucker said.

I am for paper trails. Had there been one, then they would have had a record of that oral vote that they tried to fudge.

0/10. You didn't even try there. You're better than that.

Of course, that's not to say you can't be mad at him for the healthcare law. Personally, I'm mad we didn't go the way of Japan or Switzerland with  semi-single payer system. But my god, you're just god awful at making a cognizant point.

I've noticed since Obama got re-elected, the quality of Trolls on FARK - especially in the Political Tab - has just gone down so much. There is no class anymore. Now it's just race baiting, conspiracism, or "Niener Niener Boo Boo" style whining.

I miss the good old days when we used to see people still claim there were WMDs in Iraq, and that Muslims were secretly invading from Mexico.

0/10.  Obvious shoehorning.  Not remotely topical.  Zero effort.

Way to phone it in, third-tier troll.  You keep that up and you'll be demoted to doing your partisan hackery via a got-damn sandwich board at the Aqueduct Raceway subway stop during the 3am shift.

You want that to be the only way to fill the void in your soul with the only type of attention you can get ever since your last friends and family stopped bothering to check in on you?  Then step up your game, and let's see some first-class authentic frontier gibberish spill out of that meth-addled thing you call a brain, son.

I'm not a fan of either major American party. However, many Republicans seem so stupid, it's really difficult to comprehend how they won any sort of election.

Republicans, desperate to protect their gun rights , are willingly giving up the written paper trail of the government.

que?

I'm sure he's very aware of who his employers are: The people who contributed to his campaign fund, of course.  Nobody else matters.
