zobear: Hair of the Dog is some damn fine beer. I don't envy Portlanders much -- excepting they can buy the stuff./used to find it in Fort Collins every now and again...alas
Ive had that Dogfish 120 minute IPA, Tasty stuff.
BTW if you are in NYC in the village and like beer, check this place out:
zez: This is a fairly high alcohol beer (9%) that tastes pretty damn wonderful.[www.mezessf.com image 500x750]
Robo Beat: Not strong enough to be on the list, but strong enough:[consumergoods.files.wordpress.com image 265x500]
Diogenes: Rev. Skarekroe: I dunno, once you get past a certain percentage it doesn't even taste like beer anymore.Seriously. I once had a Samuel Adams Triple Bock and thought I was drinking port.
The_Sponge: CSBs:1) I was able to pick up two bottles of the 120 Minute IPA at my local beer shop last week.2) Thanks to a fellow Farker, I was able to acquire a bottle of Utopias back in 2008.
beelzebubba76: My favorite strong(ish) beer ...[www.bierenzo.nl image 850x707]
Luse: I am on a search for anyone who doesn't like it
The Bestest: Luse: I am on a search for anyone who doesn't like itChallenge accepted. Clearly you must send me some to settle this issue..
Omahawg: bier ist gutI prefer around 7% though otherwise I end up falling down, crying, and have to apologize to lots of people the next day

KungFuJunkie: My favorite higher ABV beers are Founders KBS and Goose Island BCBS.
Smeggy Smurf: High ABV beer is for pussies who can't drink whiskey
Nick Nostril: Yes, I remember beer. Many years ago, before I discovered the nectar of the gods that is bourbon./ YMMV
phedex: Nick Nostril: Yes, I remember beer. Many years ago, before I discovered the nectar of the gods that is bourbon./ YMMVsame. once i realized theres really no reason to drink beer nightly (constant empty calories), I rarely drink beer and instead drink bourbon once every couple weeks. I honestly dont know why anyone would drink unless it was in order to at least get a solid buzz out of it. And if i need to drink, chances are I need to get drunk.
Luse: Many fine beers mentioned. Here's 2 generations of my Belgian style Chocolate Stout. I like to call it Darth Monk. The ladies like the chocolate.Comes in at almost exactly 12% ABV. and I am on a search for anyone who doesn't like it.[s21.postimg.org image 735x980]/I like the chocolate too//They like it too much///Alot of brewing for me
Angry Buddha: The_Sponge: CSBs:1) I was able to pick up two bottles of the 120 Minute IPA at my local beer shop last week.2) Thanks to a fellow Farker, I was able to acquire a bottle of Utopias back in 2008.CSB, redux: The bar I frequent here in Norfolk has the 120 Minute IPA on tap ($20/pint). I gave it a shot a while ago. Good, but too sweet for me.I'm from New England and have always loved Sam Adams. Have a Latitude 48 IPA in front of me right now. Would kill a puppy to try the Utopias. Ya bastard.
gilgamesh23: Once you start freezing out some of the water haven't you entered the distilled spirits realm? It's different method, but the results are the same. What is the maximum alcohol level at which yeast can still survive? Has anyone been doing selective breeding to get that number up for beers like this?
