Really seems like they have no clue who did this.  To me that suggests it was some kind of domestic group/person as the jiahdi types love taking credit for their shiat.

Well it's sounding more and more like a single person did this by themselves, so that's a tough investigation. Of course they're going to need evidence from witnesses, it's too big of a case. Whoever did this will probably slip up, it may take time, but it will happen.

The asshole who did this didn't want to get caught. Which leads me to hope that when he does get caught- and he will- we will get a crying, terrified mugshot.

I hope they catch this piece of shiat, identify him, and then let him out on bail. Drop him in Dorchester.

The more time that is passing the less and less this bombing is looking like a foreign attack and looking more domestic. You got to give one thing to foreign terrorists, they aren't shy about staking claim for their work. When the public asks, "Who did this?" They are jumping up and down, waving their hands and yelling, "I DID! I DID! It was me. That was my work. All of it. Yep, 100% mine."

The question I want to know is if this was done by a group of people or one lone, wolf? It wouldn't be that hard for one person to do it by themselves.

You know, looking back over the history that I've been actively aware of what's going on around me, it seems like we've gone from one witch hunt to another, and innocent people get punished (either by private actors or by the government), and yet we never, ever seem to learn our lesson.

It's actually pretty farkin' depressing, if you ask me.

I am. Women don't make bombs. Women poison you if they want you dead, and ONLY you. Men are the ones that blow shiat up or shoot at random people, overwhelmingly for the most part.

/yes there are exceptions, but I'd be absolutely floored if this turned out to be a woman. Not going to be the case.

I haven't been keeping close tabs on this story but within the first few hours afterwards didn't a story show up claiming the bomber was in custody at a nearby hospital after taking shrapnel wounds?  Was that guy cleared or did that story just 'go away'?

No they caught him, that's why they're asking for information to catch whoever did this.

Surely someone HAD to notice someone carrying a duffle bag that was weighing them down pretty good and it should be on someones camera or cell phone video. I mean, how much would a pressure cooker full of metal weigh? 20lbs? 30 lbs?

Most bombings on US soil are angry white men, probably in some sort of militia.

The fact that it happened on April 15th, in Boston (Tea Party) is significant.

Especially if he acted alone, and thus would have been carrying two of them. Also, he pretty much had to have set them up literally MINUTES before they went off, not hours. Somewhere, there's probably a photograph or even video of the bombs being set down.

Homegrown bombers usually target government buildings, abortion clinics, or whatever ALF and ELF like to target. Aside from random nutcase, bombing a sporting event seems more like a foreign or foreign-influenced case, especially since this was a multi-national event.

How?

Taking responsibility for this is guaranteed to bring drone attacks at your weddings, etc.   Waiting a while before claiming responsibility gives you time to go underground.  I would think that in the post 9/11 World, when you attack the US, that would be standard strategy.

Not saying it's definite one way or the other, just that it's premature to start laying blame based upon a lack of information. As the saying goes, one shouldn't draw vast conclusions from half-vast data.

I'd have to respectfully disagree.

The only way we're going to get through this tragedy is to use it to further our own political agendas and to demonize anyone who disagrees. It's the only way. Last I heard it was one of those Dr. Who fans that has a beef with marathons. Just saying.

He was also never a suspect as far as the police were concerned, beyond the standard "everyone who was in town is a suspect".  The only reason he was considered a Person of Interest was because he witnessed something relating to the bombing (no idea what though).

It was the craptacular New York Post that identified him as a suspect.  Every other reputable news outlet - even Fox - kept to the "Person of Interest" phrasing.

Except that one bombing was the exception, even for him:  All his other targets were abortion clinics and gay clubs.

It was an aberration.

Almost certainly human, other than that I'm clutching at straws.
Could be a man, possibly between 20 and 70 years old, some kind of skin color, might be political one way or another.
Oh, and in hiding.
