I think it stems from the facts that he's the father of two girls and has had a string of strong women in his life. And that men are by and large pretty awful creatures. Women are too, just in different ways.

Hmmm...a positive spin...I'll say this; you are consistent.

His bit about the differences between raising boys and girls almost made me drive off the road when I first heard it.

Now I've learned not to listen to comedy while driving.

Meh, you could pile it in with "Covet thy neighbor's wife" or something like that.  Slavery isn't in there, either.

and of course the article writer chides that as "men are like this, women are like this" as if that material should be forbidden by law because OMG SEXISM and WE ARE ALL THE SAME and GENDER IS A CONSTRUCT.

The writer finds a few things acceptable about Louis CK, and over-extrapolates them into feminist thinking, and says he's a feminist comic. At least half of his stuff is decidedly not feminist material.

What I find hard to believe about TFA is that it was written by a man. If David Haglund is not a pseudonym for a woman, he needs to turn in his man card.

That's okay, I'm sure half of the author's material is decidedly not accurate.

I don't know.  He'll still putting out material, but he lost the mainstream.  Look up 3 Balloons on Youtube.  More delightfully twisted songs.  Oh, and the first Dear Diary, don't drink anything when you listen to that.  It's extremely unhealthy for your electronics.

He's still around, he just went the music route for a few years.   He released a comedy/folk new album last year.

He was on Broadway and in Europe for a few years.

Brian Regan on Marc Maron's padcast made me do a spit take while driving. And I had heard it before.

I had listened to the podcast, and was playing it for my wife during a road trip. I remembered the particular joke. I knew it was coming. And it still got me by surprise. I had just taken a sip of ice tea, and suddenly I needed wipers on the inside. The windshield, the dash, the visor--ice tea every where.

Random Anonymous Blackmail: Louis CK is funny?

His FX show is the best thing on television. I'm not saying the best written. I'm not saying the funniest. But it is the best.

In a historical context, thinking of the things on tv today that will stick with us the longest, have the longest lasting impact on how shows are done decades from now, it's like The Honeymooners. It's like Ernie Kovacs.

Louie CK is making pop culture history, and we're around to see it first hand.

I felt more that he just felt that in general the whole "men are like this, women are like this" is stupid because its been done to death. those same jokes have been more or less floating around since rome was a backwater village. you have to be really good to re-frame them in a way that makes them fresh and interesting.

I dunno.  He just seems like a pathetic whiner.  Like Woody Allen, just not so annoying.

I did not like much of his TV show.  Then again, I do like some episodes of "Ow! My Balls!"

Too many people tune in thinking "he's a comedian, therefore his purpose here is to make me laugh," and then when they don't spend a half-hour slapping their knees they conclude that he "failed."

I'm not saying that if you don't like it you suck, but I think a lot of people expect it to be something it's not, and are too quick to write it off.

I think it's fkn brilliant.

He must not be a feminist because not everything he says about women equates to awe and praise.

Neither of those statements are untrue.

I love his stand-up. I only got about 1/2 way through the first season before I gave up. But then, I'm usually not a fan of comedy-of-the-uncomfortable. I don't like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" for the same reason.
