Didn't they announce the winners of this like a month ago?

Do any under-thirties know who Rebel Wilson is?

Maybe not, but one thing's for sure: They'll instantly realize that she's the Aussie version of Melissa McCarthy. Hearty laughter and/or regurgitation will then ensue.

Does anyone over 30 actually watch this dreck and if so why?

2013-04-14 01:58:14 PM
I'm over 40 and I never heard of her before the The Bridesmaids movie.

Idc because I'll be watching Game of Thrones.

2013-04-14 02:48:53 PM
I don't watch the show anymore. I just read up on it the next day, to see all the horrible outfits. Nothing wacky ever happens anymore.

Finally a thread where I can feel secure in my desire to say, "who the fark gives a shiat you tweeny shiat?"

I saw the signs up for this in Times Square. I'm 34 and I don't know who she is. I thought she was the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis.

It's funny how the Venn diagram of Mtv Movie awards and the Razzies is almost a perfect circle.

This, minus a decade.

And what does Fark say about headline questions that can be answered 'no'?

Ah, one last chance for Twi-hards to dry hump their television sets.

I take it as a mark of pride that I had absolutely no clue that this was happening before you said so,  subby.

Game of Thrones.

DVR will give me the highlights, of which I expect will be 6 seconds of the show.

Why in the world does MTV have movie awards?

The only difference is Melissa is not funny, and Rebel was hilarious in Pitch Perfect. Plus she isn't getting shoved down our throats like Miss McCarthy.

2013-04-14 08:48:40 PM
I have watched both "Pitch Perfect" and several episodes of "Go On," and I refuse to believe that Rebel Wilson and Sarah Baker are not the same person.

Why in the world doesn't MTV play music videos?

I don't know anyone under 30 who watches it either. In fact, I don't know anyone who watches MTV, period. It's fallen completely off my pop culture radar.

How the hell did you Americans let Rebel Wilson make it big? We got rid of her for a reason.

I'm honestly surprised MTV is still on the air. Just a shell of it's former self, makes 'SyFy' look halfway decent.

Bill Simmons and a significant number of his readers do, because he brings it up in his mail bags and reality tv ratings.

/MTV served its purposes in the late 80s and 90s.  It can go die now.

How to predict the winners.
If you don't see them in the audience, they didn't win.

2013-04-14 09:13:39 PM
They're really testing the tensile strength of that stage.

2013-04-14 09:13:42 PM
Alright, I tuned in to the opening only because of this thread. Subby, what in the holy fark is going on? I did not understand one aspect of that, and I don't think it's only because I'm 45.

2013-04-14 09:15:04 PM
Never heard the name Rebel Wilson. Not going to find out what it is either.

It's like the Academy Awards if all of the voters were 14 years old and beaten in the head with a brick.

THIS. While I'm not ordinarily a fan of ignorance sometimes it can be remarkably blissful.

I haven't watched it since I was like 21 or 22. Even then the awards seemed to skew towards the 12-15 crowd.

How many rubber trees had to die for that outfit?

I've seen a few late night interviews with Rebel Wilson and she's been hilarious each time.

And of course, there's at least one Twilight win. Maybe next year it will be zero.

I was curious why the Beavis & Butthead relaunch didn't receive a second season. Researching this, I found out that it was a successful show ratings-wise, but fared extremely poorly with MTV's target demographic.

That demographic is 12- to 14-year-old females.

Armed with this knowledge, it really makes me wonder about Subby's priorities in life.

We can only hope that Bieber is banging his head against a concrete wall for losing that.

Only if we can throw in Mad Men as well.

Since this is the defacto GoT thread now...WOW.  I know what's going to happen, but damn, that doesn't matter- I still jumped and cringed.  What a way to end it.
