So many people get bent out of shape by these things and time after time they turn out to be a tempest in a teacup.  He misspoke and while an inappropriate word, it's true, colors a conversation and rends it offensive we must remind these girls with their panties in a bunch that even senators, girls, just want to have fun and blow off some steam once in a while...

At least he wasn't sending out pics of his junk. If this wasn't done on public time I don't really have anything to say about it... aside from maybe 'get better taste'.

You're too clever for us, Congressman. "Teaching the press a lesson" has long been a successful tactic for a politician in dealing with the media.

/and Larry Craig was using his wide stance to expose the depravity that is occurring in airport bathrooms all over the country.

The question that is not answered is how is this policy of tweet and delete going to affect our relations with North Korea. It is completely possible that Rep Cohen is reaching out to their leader Un Dun Roundhead to tweet peaceful statements and then delete them, being peaceful for just an instant each day will acclimate the leader to eventual an all day peaceful mindset. If cancer researchers used his tweet and delete approach to radiation therapy then perhaps they could deliver more intense doses of radiation perhaps eliminating more cancer cells and saving more patients. So do not disparage the significance of this story, this man may be on the course to finding not only a means to achieve world peace, but he may cure cancer along the way.

Oh so you think it's perfectly ok for a performer to be complimented on her performance and appearance?  What kind of world do you live in!?  This isn't as if she is speaking to the senate where it should be expected.

In a Friday news conference the Tennessee Democrat said, "I tweeted exactly what I wanted to tweet and I deleted exactly what I wanted to delete."

People who use the phrase 'tweet' probably shouldn't hold office.

Because he's a Democrat. Democrats get crap for stuff that shouldn't be an issue (like Wiener's Johnson), and then don't know how to handle it when the media blows it out of proportion. "I troll u" is the last thing you say in a situation like that. Something like, "I may be a congressman, but I am also a man, and Ms. Lauper is a talented musician and an attractive woman. I would like to apologize to both Ms. Lauper and my constituents for the inappropriate comments I made on Twitter. Thank you."

Exactly.

A smart public figure would let his press guy hold the account and text him messages saying, "Tweet this." He's not going to send a dick pic to his press guy(probably) and the press guy can reply, "How 'bout I replace 'hot' with 'amazing'?" I guess Obama already does something like this. I'm surprised the parties don't advise all their members to do the same.

Cyndi recently did an album of blues standards called "Memphis Blues". She's also done an album of jazz standards ("At Last") and re-did her songs acoustically on the dulcimer ("The Body Acoustic"). There's more to her work than just pop music.

Yeah, HS level sexting of a pic less revealing than the average beach photo to a willing recipient is a totes scandal for a lib. (Couch time and/or trial seperation, sure, public outrage, no).

But soliciting sex from your underage male intern in an airport bathroom on the public dime while blowing a goat...or whatever it is the average GOP family values bible thumper does...is totes ok.

Weiner is an embarrassment who appropriately resigned. What happened was noteworthy and very indicative of his judgement and character.

Im bot defending Larry Craig. His scandal was worse, and much funnier. "wide stance".

I usually cannot bring myself to care about things like this. I mean, it's unbelievably gratifying when a man who'd previously railed against homosexuality actually turns out to be gay, but considering what I-and many others do on the internet- I cannot get outraged over things like this. Seems today, a politician doesn't even need to have sex before he's ousted... that guy who apologized to BP for getting our water in their oil is still there, so I'm not sure why Anthony Wiener and Chris Lee needed to resign.

Meh, disagree wiener sexting. Unless it involves some high level of hypocrisy (eg Spitzer banging hos while prosecuting same said 'crimes'; or the aforementioned glory hole gagging bible thumper) horndogging after poon to get a little of the strange is pretty weak scandal fodder. shiat, unless it's at least illegal or opens you up to being blackmailed for intelligence, then it's between the guy, his wife, and her potential divorce attorney. Hell, if you ain't banging a mistress, her friend, and yr wife in some Euro states you'd be accused of not being able to effectively multi-task.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that. You might eventually believe we believe that.
