The university that organized the tourist trip, mainly their students, were not told about these reporters infiltrating the trip.  They're a bit ticked now, given how they risked the lives of their students and all.

FTFA Headline: No ads, no planes, no internet, not a single luxury. Like Robinson Crusoe, as primitive as can be.

Now, I can understand the author's emotions about Best Korea, but it's not because the country or Kim is particularly "scary". It's that the country has been so isolated by the North Korean government, that it's effin' creepy. Lil Kim (hee hee hee) isn't likely to launch any nukes, he just wants to be recognized on the world stage (whatever THAT means) as an important person. Yes, he's doing it wrong.

The comparisons to Nazi Germany are correct.

The conditions inside of a North Korean concentration camp are beyond comprehension. Right now, there are about 40,000 people in Yodok experiencing an absolute hell on earth.Read if you have the stomach for it:

Wait! Teriyaki bacon. Is that even possible? Has this been done yet? It seems to me the two, when combined, would evaporate in a puff of ethereal deliciousness.

I think we can decide that for ourselves. We don`t need the news media trying to sell us another war for the purpose of ratings again.

Many, many breeds of horse can come in this coloration. Some more commonly than others. It's very common for the Percheron draft horse, for example.

Obama's weather machine.

My dad fought in the Korean War and he used to make fun of MASH's southern California setting as looking nothing like Korea. He said it looked more like Kansas and that shot of Un on the horse bears that out.

Fallout Boy: I think we can decide that for ourselves. We don`t need the news media trying to sell us another war for the purpose of ratings again.

I think that this situation is much different from Iraq. For one the White House isn't driving this, Kim Un is, if anything the White House is downplaying this as much as possible. For another the desperate conditions in North Korea are well known and have been on the internet since forever (in internet years).

I personally don't want us to go into NK, but we may have to if the situation calls for it (NK attacks SK, Japan or whatever). The job would be kicking ass (as we can easily do if we wanted to) and then stepping aside as the locals (SK & China mostly) shoulder the burden of repairs.

Mmmh, not so odd. :) Coat colours/patterns on horses aren't usually breed indicators, with some exceptions.

It just dawned on me, MASH is why I keep mentally grouping the Koreas in with Southeast Asia even though they're farther apart than Mexico and New York.
