(WWE)   WWE reveals alternate crappy designs for their world title that could have been made instead of the current crappy title they're using. Would it really have been so difficult to put the WWE logo on the winged eagle and call it a day?   (wwe.com) divider line 43

Those are all far and away better than the spinner belt, and the current belt, but yeah they should have used the winged eagle.

Boy, usually when you release concept art, it's not supposed to be better than what was decided on. WWE, the land of "what were you thinking?"

I would have used the one with the eagle flying into the WWE logo.

Yeah, the eagle one is pretty badass and would have been much better than the spinner or the current belt. Then again I liked the green monster belt from Bob Backlund's day.

The winged eagle belt will always be the best, but the belt Hogan wore around 86-87 was pretty nice too, in a traditional sense.

That Squared one and the Eagle looking one were ok, the rest were more like "JESUS CHRIST WHAT THE FARK WERE YOU THINKING"

That's right, Dergie.

Yeah, the Eagle one was the best out of the lot.

Hell, it was reminiscent of the Bruno Sammartino/Billy Graham belt.

Do whatever the hell you want with the WWE belt.

Just let Dolph wear this as his belt:

I liked the concept belts. But really, how much time do they spend showing the belt anyways? The guys are moving around so much on their intros it's just a blur anyways.

That's probably why the wwe logo takes up 75% of the face plate in all those designs and the one they ended up using. It used to be a thing of beauty (winged eagle) it has just been an advertisement ever since. The latest belt even moreso but anything is better than the spinner.

You know, I FINALLY sat down and watched an episode of the new My Little Pony just to see what you people were getting so worked up over.

It was ok.  Something I wouldn't go out of my way to watch, but if there's nothing else on that catches my interest I'd stop and watch it.

"What do you think of the new belt Brain?"

"I don't mind it, I think it's kind of cool they customize the side plates for the champion wearing it. They could put the Celtic Cross on there for Shameus."

"Sure..."

"A burrito and taco truck for Alberto Del Rio."

"what?"

"A hood and burning cross for Jack Swagger."

"Uh, Brain..."

"Two gigantic middle fingers to the smarks if they ever award it to Ryback. Hell that's what it could be right now for Cena."

"We're done here."

"... Gymbags and Charmin for Orton?"

"WILL YOU STOP?!"

Is it really necessary to specify that the eagle be "winged". Are there species of non-winged eagles?

That winged eagle was jaw-droppingly awesome. When I saw it I caught myself saying "whyyyyyyy the hell didn't they use this?' before I knew what I was doing. Nothing is worse than that garbage spinner belt. What a disgrace that piece of trash was. The Rock's belt was garbage too. When I become WWE Champion I'm going to rally to get my own version of the winged eagle, but with a phoenix instead.

I get that everyone loves this belt, probably because it's from the famed Attitude Era, but it's really not that great. The detailing is hard to make out on TV/from a distance, the font is a terrible choice, and the sideplates are generic. It wasn't *bad*, but let's not call it the greatest thing ever.

Wow, when looking at those designs, what was eventually decided on doesn't look so bad compared to the others.  Of the rejected design, the only one that is even remotely passable is the one with the eagle holding the logo in its talons.  Although the feather design on the leather strap is a bit too much.

Current belt still sucks, not a fan of the giant WWE logo taking up the entire center plate, but it's a bit better than the gaudy, blinged out piece that was the Spinner belt.

Yes, but that one has wrestlers on it and the word "Wrestling" written all over it.

We can't have that for an entertainment company.

Simple fix...

Put the word "champion" where "heavyweight" currently is, make the bottom below the Eagle's talons the nameplate.

Still needs room, for the champions name, I personally hate that the current belt, could be made generic, to save money. That said I always knew a Champ was transitional, if they did not change the name plate, aka Mick Foley comming out with a blt that says the Rock.

Back in the NWA days, only Ric Flair and Sting had big gold nameplates. Ronnie Garvin and Ricky Steamboat just wore the belt with no plate at all... which I guess was a hint.
