It's not like the kid intentionally poisoned the fatass.

Seriously. Lock his ass up.

Let's look at the facts.

Daughter has a boyfriend.
Police Chief is daughter's dad.
Cake is made with THC oil.

Who the holy fark has THC oil? Pot is so much easier to get and work with. My guess is "dad didn't like boyfriend and drank a bottle from evidence or training material to frame/investigate boyfriend AFTER stealing daughter's cake just be spiteful" has a much higher than 0% chance of being true.

I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's entirely possible and just what you'd expect from a corrupt system. Charging the police chief with DUI shows the system is working and not playing favorites/ open to abuse.

But that will never happen. Draw your own conclusions.

It was his daughter's, friend's, boyfriend's, cousin's, half-brother's, niece's roommate's pot brownie.

Seriously though, Police Chief thought he was poisoned and was going to die then reasoned that this is the opportune time to get behind the wheel?

That is brain-dead idiocy.

Dude ate a piece of cake/brownie, started feeling odd, and DIDN'T reason that it was probably pot-laced?

How did he get to this position without basic criminal justice knowledge?

"I see the results--every hour on the hour, every day. The kids, yeah I've seen what it does to them. Every time you pick up a youngster using acid, nine times out of ten he's holding marijuana. I judge weed by the company it keeps and with marijuana, the idea is to get so high that you don't know who or what you are. There is no such thing as a quickie  in pot-smoking circles if you're not flying you're a square. And "flying" means you don't know who you are or what you're doing. Son, no matter how you slice that, that's dangerous."

I'm gonna buck the trend and mostly side with the cop here, at least on the part where he went to the hospital.  Pretty dick move driving there if you think you're going to die at any moment, but actually wanting to go is fine by me.  He had no idea why he was feeling weird, and that can be scary.  Drugs are something you really want to know what you're taking, or at the very least know that you've taken something.  Plus if he's never tried marijuana by some miracle, that'd be even worse.

Of course he's a cop so he dicks it up by driving impaired and calling for whoever to be charged, so there's that.

My husband's aunt consumed 4x more than her son would have consumed and rather than flipping out and going joy riding, she told her son what she ate and he took care of her while she came down from the high. She's about as straight laced as you can get, but she's a nurse and apparently smarter than a police chief.

She's about the same body type, age, hair style is right... but she's a brunette. Actually... she might be thinner. She's mid-50s now, always been very pretty and takes very good care of herself. And she's talented, artistic, musical, a fabulous cook and baker, a feisty and slightly inappropriate sense of humor and she has Bob Villa and Martha Stewart tendencies - remodeling her own home. I admire her greatly.

Depends on whether he was hired or elected. As Washington has shown us many times, any idiot can get elected.

You're probably right about the elected ones... I mean... who pays attention to who is running for chief/sheriff positions? I did, because there was some issues in our county (and our city police are run through the county sheriff), but I know I didn't in previous elections.

Pears don't have the same rights in Seattle. We eat what's delicious and protect what's not. Seen our wolverines? We're working on protecting those! Our elk? We're fixing to open season on them.

1/2 a cup of oil in one slice? i use 1/2 cup of oil in an entire batch of cookies, something fishy here just on a purely baking standpoint, how do you fit that much oil into a slice of cake without it being liquidy

From my first round skimming the article, perhaps there was 1/2 cup in the whole cake? And it'd be easy to do if you cut down other liquids in the cake.

Not that I work with pot oil AT ALL, I'm looking at it from a purely baking standpoint.

Minus the crumbly shiat on the outside, they don't do that to the cake when I get it... I might try to get some tomorrow. Its been at least three months since I've actually had a slice.

My husband got a Peanut Butter & Jelly cake for his birthday... White chocolate cake with jam in the layers and frosted with peanut butter cream cheese frosting.
