Texasgurl24: He was genius in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

As was everybody in that movie (not to take anything away from Winters performance).

Robin Williams now officially inherits the mantle of most overrated living comedian

TimSTP: fat boy: Gonna watch It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World this weekend, who's left from the cast?

Sid Caesar and Mickey Rooney

Honestly thought Caesar had died.

Texasgurl24: He was genius in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

He stole that movie, and when you consider that cast involved, that is quite a feat.

"When I find that man, the yellow-belly who double crossed me, when I catch him, I just hope that you look away. That's all, I just really hope that you look away."

"Look, Pike. I 'm really sorry we left you out there. I wanted to pick you up, but my mother in law..."
"Listen. Anything you have to say about your mother in law, you don't have to explain to me. Like if you were to tell me that she was the star of a really crummy horror movie, I'd believe it."

Got fired from his first radio gig for interviewing himself with funny voices.  How often did that station manager slap himself in the face over the next 50 years?

Doing the math, it's still amazing to think he was just 37 in "It's a Mad..."

upload.wikimedia.org

Then again he served a couple of years as a Marine in the Pacific during WWII and that tended to add 10+ years of looks to most men.

lennavan: Jonathan Winters, who was known for his improv work that inspired many a contemporary stand-up comic including Robin Williams

There is no amount of good he could have possibly brought to the world to make up for that.

Don't be all pissy. Winters and Williams simply existed on a different plane of consciousness than most of us.

"Longtime family friend Joe Petro III says Winters died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes,"

"Montecito, Ca - Home of Natural Causes" is far and away the worst city slogan I have ever seen.

Sad. RIP, Mr. Winters.

Am I the only one who's seen The Loved One? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059410/  Winters played a dual role in this.

Really weird, uncomfortable movie. If you like that type of flick, it's worth seeing "The Loved One" at least once.
