Whatever happened to predictability?  Maybe the world is blind - or just a little unkind.

anyways, the correct answer is Courtship of Eddie's Father.

Sherwood Schwartz wanted the theme song to give a first time viewer the complete back story of the show.  In about a minute, you know exactly what's going on.

40 years later, people still remember all the words, too.  I suppose that makes it the greatest theme song ever.

This is the theme to Garry's Show,
The theme to Garry's show.
Garry called me up and asked if I would right his theme song.
I'm almost halfway finished,
How do you like it so far,
How do you like the theme to Garry's Show.

This is the theme to Garry's Show,
The opening theme to Garry's show.
This is the music that you hear as you watch the credits.
We're almost to the part of where I start to whistle.
Then we'll watch "It's Garry Shandling's Show".

This was the theme to Garry Shandling's show.

One more vote for WKRP.

The WKRP theme told you the premise of the show, without beating you over the head with it.

If WKRP was written like Gilligan's Island, Brady Bunch, Green Acres, etc. it would go
"Hey, I'm a radio producer
And I've worked in lots of places
Right now I'm in Cincinatti,
And this station is really weird

There's a permanently stoned beatnik
And a jive brother doing nights.
The chicks are really hot, the newsman's a dweeb, the sales guy is a letch
And the boss is scared of us all

Iiiii'm at WKRP in Cincinnnnnnnaaaaaati

For most people the Peter Gunn theme is a Video Game theme not a TV theme.  The show only ran for 3 seasons and was largly forgotten until Spy Hunter came out.

No, for most people the Peter Gunn theme is incidental music during The Blues Brothers.

Super Chronic: Gilligan's Island a decent choice, but I would choose Beverly Hillbillies and Hawaii Five-0.  Kind of surprised that neither was even in the poll.

I was going to post something disparaging about your age, but the fact that you're military (hence volunteer for my lazy ass), and more importantly, having to live in Florida, has caused me to reconsider. Instead I'll just say "thanks for your service and don't hate your country for making you be in Florida."
