That was the finale? Ah, shiatsnacks.

2013-04-12 10:12:00 AM
Great season, though I am very sad it's over. Probably my favorite season to date.

2013-04-12 10:18:32 AM
Hell of a season! Sad that now I'm going to have to wait for months/a year for more episodes, but boy those were great. There was even some actual character growth here and there.

Too bad we probably won't be seeing more Anthony Bourdain, that episode was awesome. Though, like I told my wife... they were flying over a river and we didn't actually see a body, so there is always a possibility.

Also kind of surprised we didn't see an episode with Conway, just the cameo of Krieger fixing him. Guess they're keeping that in the back pocket until season 4.

I lol'd so hard.

I am so upset about the season ending that my head is literally going to explode.

I still laugh to myself thinking about Pam and that sandwich. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. Ugh.

Sad to see it end, but counting the days to new Venture Bros (May 19)

The finale was awful. How do you fark up a 40-minute two-parter involving some great guest stars and Sealab?

2013-04-12 10:29:11 AM
"DANGER ZONE... man, I'm not even trying anymore."

Jon Hamm getting crushed by the Goz machine was great. "I think my spleen just came out my anus."

My thoughts exactly.  I keep forgetting how short the seasons are.

I keep trying to get into this show but it just never clicks for me.

I must be broken or something

Needed more Kreiger (although his one scene was awesome).  Barry, Katya, and other Barry were notably absent which I found odd,  you think they would have at least been the ones who supplied Murphy with the VX missiles instead of the missiles being a Hoax.

I didn't get into it until this season, it took the bobs burgers episode for me to finally be able to get into it.

Now I want to buy the season I missed on blu-ray

True enough, but if the missiles had been real, and especially if Katya and the Barrys were involved, it would have just been Space Race 2:  Bioshock Edition.  They had to make it not be identical to last season's finale.  I agree wholehearteldy on the Kreiger part, though.

Yeah, I'm surprised he hasn't made a proper return yet.  Maybe next year could do with a little less Barry, and have Conway pulling the strings for a bit.  Give him a couple cameos throughout the season as the guy behind the evil plan of the week, leading up to him starring in a two-part finale.  It just seems odd that with all of the continuity Archer has focused on, they've left that thread dangling.  I assume it's probably due to the availability of the actor.

I liked the fact that Ray in a wheelchair has now become a running gag.

You've got three seasons to catch up on.  I highly recommend it.  The episodes are even funnier when you have the character backstories to go with it.

Season 1 had several standout episodes, including Skytanic and Skorpio. I thought the finale was weak, but in hindsight it is part of the overarching plot that climaxes at season three (PHRASING).

Season 2 was hilarious and season 3 was absolutely perfect.

It is worth watching, but like Arrested Development, it warrants a second or third viewing sometimes to catch everything.

2013-04-12 10:49:25 AM
It was overall a very good season but I just wasn't very impressed with the finale, it had so much potential for some great shows but it just didn't click with me like I had anticipated. Finding out Archer was from the Sealab guys was what got me to watch it in the first place. I was hoping for at least some chairguy or Hesh. The soda machine falling on Murphy was a pretty good callback, but having a scorpion climbing up to the machine would have made it great.

Krieger is still trying to do the Y Y Zed.

Great episode. Who is the father of Lana's baby? If she even telling the truth.

Ray is back in the wheel chair but I'm sure they fix him up again.

THIS! Shiat, we didn't even get black Debbie! When they said Sealab episode, I definitely expected more than the one guy whose voice actor died.. Sure, he was hitting things with a wrench and got smashed by a soda machine, but it really didn't seem like the same Captain Murphy, personality-wise. Too lucid.

Two questions, though: How tough can it be to replace the CPU in some bionic legs, and who is Lana's baby daddy? Those are gonna itch until the next season.. I'm guess Pam will be out in the field a lot more now that two agents are out of action. Oh god, that makes the team Archer, Pam, and Cyril! There's no rock there, nobody even halfway trying. Missions are farked.

Neil Pert stands alone.

It was just a control chip shorted out by the defibrillator.  I'm sure Krieger will have him fixed up by the end of the first episode back.

I caught 2/3 last night after getting home from Lewis Black. Great episode. I can't wait until this season comes out on Netflix.

To the first, probably not very, once they get back to Kreiger.  Ray's reaction seemed a bit excessive, considering Archer hadjust spent a few minutes DEAD.  As to the second, I think she mentioned it being from a donor in response to something Cyril said, but it was quick and kind of mumbled.

Just guessing here, but it may have partly to do with rights issues, since Sealab and Frisky Dingo aired on Turner stations.

Part 1 was better. It seems like a missed oppurtunity that we get Murphy sane even after he's shown talking to nobody/plants. That would have tied nicely with Cheryl's plot last week. The season as a whole shaped up toward the end and had some episodes bound to hold up as classics.

Dropping the whole Barry thing was odd. Didn't love his involvement anyway.

Jon Hamm was awesome though. Sounded like an actual voice actor as opposed to just an actor.

I've been really happy with John Hamm's non-dramatic gigs.  He's brilliant during his appearances on 30 Rock.

Yep. That's the case. He can't do much with those properties. That sucks balls too because a huge Frisky Dingo style crossover would be amazing.

You know what the worst part of Archer is?  The part that, were it to be repaired would make this show legendary?  Get rid of Aisha Tyler's lousy non-performance.  She says her lines as if she's seeing the script for the first time and has some notes that she'd like to submit to the staff.

Being cute in comedy only works for a while if you're not funny (she ain't) and doesn't work at all in voice work.

Lana screaming Archer out in the DSV was the best part of this new episode. The voice is as animated as all the other women on the show and all the men are deadpan so I don't see your point.

SMOKEBOMB!

And they really need to get Pam on some missions as an agent. Her kicking Archer's ass last episode was the best part. I want to see more of that.

I think it's a troll. We're talking about the voice acting in a show featuring H Jon Benjamin afterall.
