I'm sorry, but if this wasn't already obvious to you, go shoot yourself; you're wasting air.

Leave the fatties alone! Everyone knows the real reason for high healthcare costs and missed work is the smokers.

Jim.Casy: What about apple bottom jeans?

Came here to say just that. Apple bottoms are perfectly fine. Don't believe me, ask Nelly.

I've got a lot of imagination, but how in the hell did anyone decide THAT is apple shaped?

Yeah, if I came across an apple like that, I would not eat it.

I believe those are for the pear shaped?

Aren't apples larger on top than below or have we been holding, growing, and eating them upside down?

As a skinny apple (thin extremities and very little butt), it's a valid thing.  I have boobs, but no waist or hips.  Kind of like a box with toothpicks sticking out.  Everything sits between the pits and crotch.  If someone like me was to pack on the pounds,  it would all go to the middle.  Not so bad if one is thin, but, from what I understand, it does increase the risk for heart disease.
Pears have it all sitting below the waist on the hips, butt, and thighs.  Clear that up for you?

The easiest thing to do, of course, is change your body shape by changing how your load your body when you exercise, if you're concerned about it.  You pack on pounds where you put a lot of endurance pressure on muscles that you don't develop.  Change how you use your muscles and you can gradually change your shape.  Of course, you have to consider what your strongest muscles are, and how long it took to get them that strong. It generally is going to take a long time of correcting how you've trained yourself to make a big difference by your late to mid twenties onward, depending on how much effort you're willing to put into it.

Yeah, I've got that shape. I hate it. I hate being told how much healthier it is to be a pear-shape, because I'd love to be a pear-shape, but unfortunately I wasn't born with it. At least I have boobs I guess, so that's something. Some apple-shaped people get the wide shoulders without the large boobs, which is just unfortunate.

What?

I have an apple-shaped body. My shoulders are wider than my hips, and my hips are not wider than my waist. It's sort of a straight line from armpits down to the thighs (okay for a guy, not so great if you are a woman). To be the healthier pear-shape my hips need to be wider, how the f*** am I supposed to exercise to make my skeleton change shape? Or how do I tell the fat to go and hang around on my hips and butt?

Or look at it this way, how would you get a man to exercise if you wanted him to get a classic pear-shaped woman's silhouette instead of the upside down triangle male shape? Because if that were achievable, there'd probably be some trans people who'd be really interested in that too.
