Thanks subby, a great way to start the day.

The James Brown one was the best of the batch (so far, about halfway through them).  That he was able to impart some rhythm to that lily white audience was a good demonstration as to why he was the best.  Awesome stuff....

All of those are great.  Excellent find.

As goes his stretch on CBS, I'm partial to the "pass-the-mic" performance that Earl Scruggs did of Foggy Mountain Breakdown,

Not a bad one in the bunch. Except of REM.

Ah Wow... just wow.

Glad they had R.E.M.'s first performance on it, but I prefer "Radio Free Europe" from the same show.
Mike Mills is such an excellent bassist. And I loved Bill's inventive drum beats and fills from that era. Then he became just another average rock n' roll drummer, circa 1990. (kind of like Pick Withers from Dire Straits 1978 debut v.s. 1982's "Love over Gold" album.)

Sonic Youth, 1992. Watch as Paul Schafer has to stop playing along because he's trying to keep his keyboard from falling to the ground.
