My take on the experiment.  If you offer any money for a song based on a 30 second clip then you're a dumbass.

/i need many listens with some nights inbetween to know if i really love something
//and there's easy legal ways to do it that might give the artist a penny or two even if you don't end up loving it

The kinds of songs that get stuck in my head are generally the ones that make me want to shove ice picks in my ears, so I must conclude that my brain is a severe masochist...

FTA "Instead of just asking them if they liked the music or not, we gave them a chance to buy the music because that gives us a real understanding of what they really like and want,"

Yeah, i bet there are no plans to use this to maximize profits.

I've had the bassline to Mantronix - Bassline stuck in my head for the past 15 years. No joke. I will be caught humming it all the time.

It's a good thing I don't mind it. As a matter of fact, it's quite catchy. It uses a TB-303.

A buddy told me of a "brain sorbet" to stop a song stuck in your head.

Start thinking of the song "Oh Mickey", soon you forget the original problem song, and then "Oh Mickey" is easily forgettable after that.....

/ ♩♪♫♬ Oh, Mickey, you're so fine You're so fine you blow my mind Hey, Mickey Hey, Mickey ♩♪♫♬

The one song that gets stuck in my head fills me with rage. It happens if someone inadvertently says either of these phrases in a sentence "to the window" or "to the wall"

To the window, to the wall,
To the sweat drop down my balls
To all these biatches crawl
To all skeet skeet motherfarker all skeet skeet god damn

Could a brain high explain Space Nutters and their echo chamber of "mud ball" and "doomed species" be the equivalent of an ear worm?

I think having subjects associate a hypothetical price value to a song sample is a flawed methodology given that in industrialized nations shopping and acquisition is in and of itself a rewards-based compulsive activity.

What if it's a song by a band that is comprised of time travelers and the lyrics are winning lottery numbers for the next five drawings?  Yeah, who's the dumbass now?

i would think a song gets stuck in your head because you just listened to it.
