SockMonkeyHolocaust: Wayne's World THREE here we come. Time to dig up a bunch of terrible trailer park "rock" acts with nothing better to do except make a cameo.
Elzar: Carvey is a thousand times a better comedian then Mike Myers./ Mike Myers was the Dane Cook of the late 80s/early 90s
HalEmmerich: No one else noticed the one guy's name is Hawk Koch? No? I think I need to get some sleep if I'm the only one that easily amused...
Dr.Zom: They just did a Wayne's World in 2011 when Carvey hosted SNL. Not much of a feud if you ask me.
TheJoe03: Elzar: Carvey is a thousand times a better comedian then Mike Myers./ Mike Myers was the Dane Cook of the late 80s/early 90sWell there actually was a time when Dane Cook was an at least somewhat respected as a stand up comic, Mike Meyers never was as far as I know.
rickythepenguin: "choppin broccoli"
rickythepenguin: And Carvey felt Myers later stole his Dr. Evil impression for Austin Powers, which supposedly was based on Carvey's goof on Lorne Michaels.wow. never thought about that, but that could figure....Carvey's early stand-up was kinda impression heavy, albeit the "what if _____ was imitating _____ and then ran into ___ at the store!" variety, which is now cliche. but he did that shiat. i mean, "choppin broccoli", ross perot, president bush, etc., he showed a malleable personality.Mike Myers has never shown much chops in the way of imitating other people*, outside of his mick jagger impression. yeah, myers does the scotsman (shrek), the scotsman (fat bastard), the scotsman (axe murderer dad), ronnie wood (english), and then in his biggest role, the english guy.i could totally see carvey doing lorne and then getting mad myers stole it.*well, i guess SOMEONE never saw that shiatty "studio 54" movie circa 2002 that only me, Mike Myers, and his dog saw.
Fano: Elzar: Carvey is a thousand times a better comedian then Mike Myers./ Mike Myers was the Dane Cook of the late 80s/early 90sSkinheads of Maine was brilliant
The Googles Do Nothing: Dr. Evil seems more based on Lorne Michaels than Austin Powers./Is it lame that I can't say or type "laser" without putting quotes around it?//old
mike8536: Eff all that noise. Dana Carvey has had some bad luck. He had some heart problem where they needed to do very intensive surgery. He dislikes flying so instead of traveling to see the worlds best surgeon for his type of surgery, he decided to go with the lower tiered 3rd or 4th best guy in Cleveland. Turns out that guy worked on the wrong side of his heart, so Dana Carvey went through all the rehab (which took almost a year) and still felt horrible. When they looked at his heart again, they realized it wasn't worked on proplerly and he had to go through the entire process all over. That took a few years off his career in his prime. Dr. Evil and the entire Austin Powers franchise was potentially his but he let one of his good friends take over and develop/produce/star in the thing because he was not physically able to. This whole controversy is bs but we already knew that.
Smashed Hat: If we're going to bring back nostalgia from the early 90's can we please have more new Beavis & Butthead episodes instead? The ones they did a year or two ago were great.
Crewmannumber6: Elzar: Carvey is a thousand times a better comedian then Mike Myers./ Mike Myers was the Dane Cook of the late 80s/early 90sMike Myers is very talented, he just doesn't know when to stop. Wayne's world should have been a one off thing, same with Austin Powers, same with Shrek.
Oafmeel: My respect for Myers jumped after seeing him in Ingorious Bastirds (or however the fark Tarintino spelled it). I knew he was a good comedic actor, but he nailed the Brit Officer bit.
