Good point. Rand Paul is a genius. You guys should definitely push hard for him to be the candidate in the next presidential election. You need to be MORE conservative and LESS inclusive.

Black people - too stupid to have policy views, only respond to shiny things. Oh, and come vote for us! You're natural conservatives!

The Democrats promised equalizing outcomes through unlimited federal assistance while Republicans offered something that seemed less tangible-the promise of equalizing opportunity through free markets.

The sad/obvious thing is, he actually believes that free markets, where the haves get all the advantages to increase their wealth on the backs of the have-nots, is a good thing.

If wealth distribution is the indicator, who the moochers are is a little obvious isn't it.

Probably because he's a racist.  But we're the real racists for saying that.  Or something.

Anyway, it looks like Herr Paul has Sloth's vote if he ever runs for Führer Chancellor President.

In other news, all republican strategists are undercover democrats.

Ok not really, but as I've said before.  Your average politician has little incentive in risking his neck to help the national party if instead he can appeal to a strong base in his district and secure a lifetime of re-election.

I say they use the nuclear option:   total acceptance and frequent use of racial slurs.  It's a bold strategy sure to resound with the base.

2013-04-11 01:59:16 PM
To a man, no republican will ever acknowledge the southern strategy, even though they were still employing it in the last election..

2013-04-11 01:59:30 PM
If you keep taking away the manufacturing base. If you keep taking away jobs that don't require higher education. If you keep taking away industry that can employ lots of uneducated people and enable them to provide a stable home for their family, they will turn to other methods for providing for their family. The Southern Strategy coupled with the movement of jobs overseas (offshoring) has removed the ability for many, black or white, to move up the socio-economic ladder and improve their lives. The Southern Strategy was aimed at minorities, even though it was leveled at all people. Offshoring was aimed at increasing profits even though it was leveled at poor people. Things like the War on Drugs was once seen as primarily aimed at minorities, but with the advent of Meth, we have seen it begin to wreck white communities as well. A lot of people are being caught up in this and so many think 'oh this only happens to those people, to bad people' when in reality it could easily happen to you.

Rand has a father who has been well placed his whole life. Rand even went so far as to fake his Dr license. Rand has ridden the coat tails of his father to get where he is. He thinks he is entitled and better than the people he ridicules, when in reality most of them have worked harder and for longer, than he ever has, does or will.

I was ready to give him 1/10 for being willing to go talk to the opposition on their ground.  I wish more people would do it.  But that was almost painful to read.

2013-04-11 02:01:56 PM
Don't count them out. The Republicans are geniuses at getting people to vote against their own self-interests. Look at the number of poor and middle-class whites that'll gladly pull the R level while the Republicans are raping them at every chance they get. They can still pull in a decent vote from women, despite their overt desires to oppress women every chance they get. All they need to do is figure out the right the hook for black folks--what the magic frequency of the dog whistle is--and then turn the full force of their evil genius in that direction.

Paul tried to explain that the first black senator was a Republican - but stumbled when he was "blanking on his name." The crowd shouted that it was Edward Brooke.  Paul tried another fact. "If I would have said, 'Who do you think the founders of the NAACP were? Do you think they were Republicans or Democrats?' Would everybody in here have known they were all Republicans?" "Yes!" the crowd shouted. "Alright, alright," Paul admitted, "you know more than I know."

That....was awesome.

and according to Rand Paul himself, the fact that such signs are now illegal is one of the grossest impositions of federal tyranny on the rights of free men ever concieved.   It's ironic he can simultaneously believe that AND say the free market would have solved the civil rights problems.  A market ain't free if it ain't available to all participants  equally

. People often see the Commerce Clause as a made-up basis/justification for the Civil Rights Act  but forget that it really did affect interstate commerce when, a black person couldn't drive from NY to say Florida and be reasonably assured he'd have a place to stay for the night along the trip, be able to get something to eat, or even fill his car with gas.  It limited black's economic participation AND their economic opportunities

Now, some folks just aren't satisfied with their place here at Fink Industries. But I tell you, there's a purpose for all living things. Would the pharaohs of Egypt have been able to stand at the top of their pyramids if the Israelites had not made their bricks? Would the captains of industry have been able to ride the rails had not the Chinamen laid the track for them? So I say, chin up! History is built on the backs of men like you!
