That... is f*cking awesome.

I hope some higher-up at Parker Brothers and Bethesda help him produce that for real.

Now I really want to know how the cards and leveling system work attached to Monopoly.

I own a few collector's editions of Monopoly, but never actually purchased one (they were all gifts from various people) or opened one to play with.

I would buy this in a heartbeat. He obviously put a hell of a lot of thought and work into it.

With the highest denomination being Sunset Sarsaparilla Star caps.  It's the small touches that make it cool.

I assume it would be illegal for him to sell this, which sucks.

It would be great if Bethesda offered him some $$$ for that...more likely lawyers would come down on him if he even thought of selling it.

This is all making me itch for Fallout 4. When is that coming.

Sometime after the Halo 720 Doritos box is released, I'd imagine.

Did anybody else catch the fact it took the guy 8 months to make the game for his wife?

If only I hadn't massacred those Legionnaires in that burning town...

2013-04-11 02:29:43 PM
At least Bethesda's aware of this. They've put it up on their Facebook page. So, maybe there's hope it could be produced.

Which is great. Because I had no idea this existed before now, but suddenly, I'm discovering that I can't live without it.

2013-04-11 02:30:03 PM
It is freaking awesome. You can tell he put a heck of a lot of time into it. The tokens are kinda meh, but everything else is outstanding.

Remember the game Journey Escape? It;s like that except it's about the band Fallout Boy.
You have to get them to the spaceship on time so they can have their concert.

Post apocalyptic RPG set mostly in California, but also in the DC area and Nevada. Fight mutants, robots. Has a cool 1950s visual style.

Awesome job on the game, but why would you pick Monopoly?  It is a terrible game.  Does anybody actually enjoy playing it?  The game generally gets decided by what you land on in the first two turns around the board, and the next hour or 3 is just soul crushing for everybody but the winner.

BalugaJoe: What is Fallout about?

It's a post-apocalyptic RPG where the 1950s "SCIENCE!" never went away and instead fueled every single design and invention. Everything runs on nuclear power (including the cars, if you shoot one enough it erupts in a small nuclear cloud), lasers, plasma, etc.

Everyone prior to the apocalypse feared a nuclear war with China, so the government constructed vaults to secure select groups of people. Then the apocalypse happens so those people go into the vaults.

What most of the inhabitants didn't know was 90% of the vaults were actually science experiments. One vault was designed to have its water chip (what converts irradiated water into clean water) break. This actually starts Fallout 1 as the vault dweller goes in search of a water chip. Another was filled with 199 women and one guy, to see what happens. Another was filled with 199 men and 1 woman, just to see what happens. Another had subliminal music play that actually caused all the inhabitants to go insane and kill each other. Yet another had a sick system of forcing the inhabitants to sacrifice a person every year, otherwise the vault would kill everyone. The actual test was seeing whether they would rebel against the system. Rebelling would shut the system down and allow everyone to live, but they didn't figure that out until only 5 inhabitants were left. Another had a single guy with a box of puppets, just to see how crazy he would go.

Then you have the various governments trying to rule over the apocalyptic wasteland. It's a game all about choices of who you would support, slander, save, kill, etc.

Very fun games,

I think it's one of the few board games that would allow for so many shout-outs/references to the game. Plus this one actually has perks, stats, etc. which supposedly changes the game quite a bit. One of the reasons I'm really interested in this one.

Maybe the game of Life would possibly work too, but not this well.

And the Deathclaws shoot up into the sky and just keep on going, eventually looping around to shot out of the ground again. Forever.

It's pretty much the only game franchise that I don't mind having bugs (except game breaking ones of course). Most of them are hilarious, and the rest are hilariously creepy (like Doc Mitchell's exorcist head, or Meat man).

Elder scrolls are also a gold mine.  A buddy of mine has about four dragon skeletons in Whiterun.  No idea how they got there, but every time he goes into town they fall out fo the sky and into the street.

Vault 108! A vault used to experiment cloning that got out of control and it now populated by 54 identical clones named Gary.

For those asking "What's Fallout?" I have a much easier answer than the one above:

It's Elder Scrolls (Skyrim/Oblivion especially) but with a post-apocalyptic 1950s style world instead of a fantasy world; The same gameplay as Oblivion, but with guns, mutants, and old-timey robots.

Wrong. That's Fallout 3 / NV.

The others are isometric turn based in the same world.
