Lindsey Vonn in Tiger's pool.  Is she in a boot, or being borne on a litter?  Didn't she go Operation Codename:  Kevin Ware just about a month ago?

You probably haven't heard of him, but I have a feeling that the relatively unknown Tiger Woods guy is going to be a force here.  Just a gut feeling.

I hope he wins it.  and i'm already sick of Phil running his yap about his Frankenwood club.  I read a story yesterday where he was talking about how well he hit it two weeks ago and how the club's low spin plays perfectly to Augusta's new layout and how clean he was off the tee.  the way he was talking, you'd think he was in Butler Cabin sunday night, going over how he won the green jacket.

Considering it was just a torn ACL, I'd say no. And she probably figured "Tiger played golf with a torn ACL. I can walk around here with one."

FIGJAM said that??? Shocking.

The US open is still my favorite major, but the Masters always has the best finishing 9 holes. It sets up for anyone within around 3 shots of the lead to have a fighting chance.

Not just that but it's a Republican's version of porn. Stuffy old men in sport coats constantly revisiting history to the good ole days.

Just flip on Golf Channel's coverage today and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Being a big golfer and fan of the game I'll obviously watch the tourney, but I appreciate The Open Championship and the US Open far more than The Masters.

Yeah, there is never any selective nostalgia out of a bunch of stuffy Brits from "the birthplace of golf".

Plus, Curtis Strange is on the air too much for the Open.  He's the worst.

Thursday at The Masters, you say?

Not that I've ever seen this movie before, but I think some lesser-known name is going to come out and shoot about a 66. He will then show up tomorrow, realize that he's not only no Tiger, he's not even the modern day Mark McCumber, and shoot about a 78.

That's my crazy prediction.

Oh there is, no doubt. To me though it's a lot less "controlled" than Augusta. I'm surprised they even let spectators on the course to tell you the truth, like they are scared of anyone "desecrating" their shrine to golf.

Their refusal to accept women as members for so long is another point.

Not to me, it isn't.  They didn't "refuse" anything, they just didn't have any, which as a private club is their right.

yeah....I thought it was a douchey, outdated, silly decision not to admit females but it was their right to be farksticks.  glad that they changed it finally.

(although, aren't some areas of the grounds still technically restricted?  i thought i read somwehere where Butler Cabin and a few other areas were still "Boys Rule, Girls Drool" areas.)  i don't give a shiat either way, it isn't like I'll be playing Augusta anytime soon.

It's not like Augusta is the only place that does that. There's a men's only golf club in SW Denver metro area. I think the Boulder Country Club has a Men's only Grille/Bar area as well.

I'm glad they admitted two women as well, and I'm glad they did it in their own way without any fanfare leading up to the announcement.  It was as matter-of-fact as you can get.

That said, I don't know about any "restricted" areas, I just assumed all member areas are open to all members, and didn't find any information to the contrary in a very brief search.

oh, absolutely, tons of places have that restriction.  they're just not the site for the greatest* of the Majors.

there was a private club in phoenix that was men's only (if i recall, designed by Nick Faldo) and that set off a bit of controversy locally.....the club stood their ground as i recall and then, in a stroke (pardon the pun) of karma, 2-3 years after it opened, the economic recession hit bigtime, and the club went out of business.  it fell into disrepair and then reopened pretty recently under a "come one, come all" management.

*Ehhh......the Master's and the Open are 1 and 1A, it is just so damn hard to follow due to the time difference.

doofusss: Best week in golf is not having to listen to Johnny Miller

ugh i can't stand him.  i know he had that amazing Oakmont win, but christ.

just last year, Phil hit this amazing put on a this massive terraced green, with several breaks, from about 100' feet out.  anyways, Phil read the breaks more or less perfectly, but the ball ran out of gas about 8-'10' short.  maybe it was less.  either way, it was the kind of put any pro golfer would be proud of.

johnny miller's pithy response?  "Mmmm.  Did you hit it, Phil?  that's one he'd take back if he could."

yeah, that was a garbage putt, Mr. Oakmont.

Johnny's commentary tells you a lot about how he approached the game. When he's talking about how a guy's "feeling pressure" or "worried about trouble", he's basically saying "I would have been gagging harder than [REDACTED] when I was a pro if I had to play this shot."

He'd absolutely mentally defeated. If it wasn't for one incredible round- and a 63 at Oakmont is amazing under any circumstances, let alone Sunday at a US Open- he'd be Tom Weiskopf without the course design chops.

surprised to see Sergio one off the pace with 5 left.  hopefully he doesn't spit in any holes or blame the gallery if (when) he gags.
