They could make double that, easy, by wearing the costumes and make-up and charging for sex.

Disney is a big evil company, sure. I get that. Personally I would be amused as hell to see a grey haired, wrinkled, chain smoking, 50 year old cocktail waitress as Snow White, but I don't think that's really what the children want.

hideous: not condoning age discrimination here, but perhaps a little common sense.  I mean, if you are portraying a teen, for example, maybe it isn't some big evil conspiracy that you are now too old to portray that character at some point.

When I was still a smoker, I took my little girl to Disney World for a week.  When I was dying for a smoke, I had tried to find a spot where I would not be drawn and quartered for smoking.  I went to this secluded area beside Cinderella's castle where I smelled someone else was smoking.  When I found the ashtray, who was next to it puffing away?  Why none other than Snow White.  I have a feeling she wasn't in that job very long, because I don't think they're ever supposed to break character, and I am pretty sure that the real Snow White was a non-smoker.

I have an acquaintance who worked as a Disney park princess - at Tokyo Disney. Unfortunately for her, she was one of their most scantily clad ones; Jasmine from Aladdin. She said she loved working with the kids, but half the time she'd get Japanese businessmen who would get all excited and come running up for photos, exclaiming "JAZZZA-MIIIIN!!!" Of course when taking photos, they nuzzled their faces up to her chest and gave peace signs.

Kinda like this, but with roles reversed.

I was in the musical Camelot years ago.  I played Lancelot.  The worst part was not only was I expected to look like Lancelot during the performance, I also had to stay in character while I was on stage!

During the song "C'est Moi" I wanted to just sit down and not sing but they insisted that not only do I stand, but that I remember rehearsed choreography!

Shine On You Crazy Diamond: Dated a Disneyland Cinderella in the mid 90's, so getting a kick out of............

That right there is why they have an age limit. Nobody wants to see Cinderella zipping around on a scooter and breathing out of an Oxygen tank. 95?!!! What the hell? Was she the original Cinderella?

Maybe if Reddit hired a couple of designers and updated its "twelve year old discovers GeoCities" look, more people would read it.

Reddit is skinable to any design you want. There are thousands out there for you to pick from.

Yes because everyone worldwide reads Redit so there is no need to ever, under any circumstances, repeat anything that's ever said on that site.

Hey, if you want to support just recaping old reddit threads there are thousands of interesting ones. I'm sure we could do it for years. Maybe I can convinced the Dailymail to pay me to do it.

Reddit is just 4chan with a slightly higher average user age and more actual pedophiles.

Just came off a Disney cruise and like everyone else, all the Princesses also had "extra" jobs on the ship...most of them I noticed worked in the nursery or in the Kids Club...but one of them (Snow White) worked in the Coffee/Booze bar in the Adult section...it was morning, so I only ordered an Americano...but I was very tempted to order a Harvey Wallbanger or something just so I could say Snow White served me a Sex on the Beach.

karmachameleon: Tat'dGreaser: I love these "woe is me" stories

I didn't see any complaining there, just an accurate description of the work.

We took the kids to Disneyland 6 years ago, and the actors and actresses were easily one of the highlights of the trip.  I could appreciate how hard their job must really be, and I really appreciated how on-the-game they all were and how they made the trip really magical for the kids (ages 5 and 10 at the time).  I don't know what they were thinking inside, and that's the whole point - on the outside they appeared to be as happy as clams, and they treated my kids like they were the first kids they'd seen all day.  The professionalism was phenomenal.  They may not get paid much, but I'm betting it's a pretty sweet entry on their resume - anyone who knows how hard and how well these people work also knows what it takes to maintain a job like that.  In all seriousness, I could not do it.

I remember watching David Letterman about 20 years ago or so and there was an actress who said she wore a character costume at Disney World. Not a princess, but like Goofy or some other character (Chip? Dale?) where people couldn't see who it really was.

She said her first day, she posed for pictures with people, but it took her half a day to realize that she didn't need to smile when posing for pictures because nobody could see her face anyway. At that point, she started having fun inside the mask - sticking out her tongue or whatever. Made her day a lot more enjoyable.

stuhayes2010: Being kicked out at 27 isn't sad, it's expected.  You can't be an old MILFy princess, nature of the job.  The pay is really sad.  Friends just went to Disney, did the breakfast with the princesses, they paid through the nose.  Those ladies earn a lot for Disney, they should make a lot more.

They should transition them to Disney villains. They are most old women.

That's nice.

Not everyone reads redditt. It's ok that there are multiple sources of data on the Internet. Relax.

Dammit, you don't understand.  Once something has been posted to the Internet in one location, it is an abomination in the eyes of God for that to then be posted ANYWHERE ELSE.  Especially if it gets posted more than a day or two afterward, 'cause by then it's OLD.

Double? At $16 an hour they pull in about $128 a day, figure in taxes they make about $100 a day.  Compare that to the 200-300 an hour they would get for selling it, multiplied by say 4 a day, that's $800-1200 a day.

Damn I wish I was a Disney Princess Whore

So in other words being an actor performing a specific character accurately is work with many responsibilities. And the people who own that character demand the highest possible standards in it being portrayed the way they see fit.  Thanks Daily Mail!
