Dirty old man!  She's too young, yet you try anything to attract 'er.

Bahaha!

OK, I'll shut up now.

/That was awful, weasel, absolutely awful.

Those are corn fed girls. They could have lifted two tractors if needed.

2013-04-10 04:55:46 PM
The one on the right looks like your typical moderately attractive but corn fed midwestern girl.

Watch out for that one, dem girls can get freaky

They didn't lift 3000 lbs. They lifted one side while the majority of the weight was on the pivot point.

2013-04-10 04:58:22 PM
I'm OK with the youth of today. They seem to be a little more bootstrappy than before. At least they didn't get lost on the way to the tractor, fear death and immediately start eating dirt.
Bootstrappy. Testicles not required. Well done ladies.

2013-04-10 04:59:18 PM
If they needed something moved they should have used the tractor beam.

2013-04-10 04:59:50 PM
They just don't build 'em like they used to

/Not sure if I mean tractors or teen girls

Otherwise, WOW!

With all the adrenaline that was coursing through their veins, they probably could have picked it up and thrown it off of him.  Good for them though, if I saw my dad trapped under any kind of vehicle, my first reaction would be to start screaming and running around like a chicken with its head cut off.  I am NOT good in emergencies.  Wish I was.

Was working on my wife's car some years back, changing the brakes.  Was wiggling the rotor off, when the jackstand suddenly sunk into the dirt/gravel and then turned, dropping the car on top of me.

My wife heard me yell "help!" - she came out, and without thinking lifted the car off me.  I know, I know, you're thinking pivots, angles, things and stuff.
1)  First, the car was at a pretty decent incline, facing uphill
2)  she lifted it from the back bumper, which was several feet lower than the front bumper - so far as pivots are concerned, she did not have the mechanical advantage
3)  she had to lift it high enough that the springs/shocks were fully lifted off
4)  I was pinned in such a way as to not be able to help in the least (I was twisted around, and generally assumed the situation was helpless so didn't even think to try - she lifted it so fast I didn't even get to think about it)
5)  she weighed about 110lbs, which was...
6)  She was a vet student at the time (is a vet now...) so was doing 18hr days during rotations...was in the worst shape of her life due to not having enough time to do any physical activity, much less eat properly - hell, she didn't even get enough sleep.

I know, I know, CSB.  Just sayin, sometimes it doesn't have a simple "oh, the person didn't actually do anything incredible, they were just using a force multiplier to..." no, sometimes it really is pretty damn shocking.

studs up: mildly amusing, maybe

exceptionally embarrassing is what it was.  It sunk/moved quick, I very quickly tried to get out but there was very very little time between the first slip and the fall.  Thus the reason I was left in an awkward position; I was mid-recoil.  Was pretty dumb for not securing the car better.

But, it's entirely true.  I'm neither attributing G-d, nor am I a reporter.  Examples of "superhuman" feats from adrenaline rushes are very well documented, proven, etc.  Did the reporter sell the story well enough to not get dismissed?  Was it not actually a story at all, really?  Who knows.  I just know I've witnessed it first-hand, so I'm not gonna dismiss it so easily.

Looks like an 8N Ford....maybe a 9N but it still is to a tractor as a Vespa is to a GXR.
I had an old John Deer B on my place, pulled a full JD disc, it was fun to watch guys with those little fords try to pull my disc.
My old B pulled it at max cut and with it's engine at idle, in any gear but road gear.
Sold the hobby farm, wish I'd kept the tractor.

At the county fair my tractor picked up a few girls, so it's okay if girls didn't pick it up.

(Stumbles over to bar, scotch and water, stumble back, write this, hit send....what 4:20? Again?)

I think the "hilarious" comment was towards me and the "haters gonna hate" jibe. I was replying to that. Your story really was a CSB. I believe you and I'm sure you worship your wife every day and damn well better get the dishes at night. After all, she can pick up a farkin truck, letting you know who is boss can be handled with a stern look. Glad everything turned out alright.

Adrenaline does stuff to people. I watched some idiot's car fishtail right onto the sidewalk in front of a hair salon. A very frail old lady had just come out. She was moving slowly with a cane. That car swung right by her and she just flat out levitated up and back about 4 feet and landed with catlike grace. I suspect she gobbled a lot of Tylenol and brandy that night, but good on her.

It is a Ferguson TO-20, which does look just like the 8N/9N.  Stories I heard was that the similarity was intentional.    Ferguson also made the TO-30, but it had some extra name badges and usually came with lights.

I spend several years of my youth working on both an 9N and an 8N.   Now days I have a Mahindra 6525 that I use to maintain my cattle.
