I hope he sends more gold.

They will be deported;

are there lives in danger- no
are they being persecuted- no
is Glenn Beck a racist-yes

/Please Palin help

FTA :Glenn Beck himself said that there are only three reasons to be an "illegal immigrant" in the United States: "One, they're terrorists; two, they're escaping the law; or three, they're hungry. They can't make a living in their own dirtbag country."

Dirtbag country. Nothing racially coded there. Anyway, now all of a sudden we can add to Beck's list a fourth reason: Homeschooling!

Well technically there is no forth reason as this family escaped for reason number 2.

But then again for most right-wing nut jobs any law that isn't in the U.S. Constitution (at least the ones they agree with) isn't a real law especially the laws of foreign countries, well except for laws that apply to their tax havens status, those foreign laws are totally cool.

Why do Republicans hate our allies?

2013-04-10 02:26:40 PM
This is amazing. Honestly. So sick. I have no snark.

2013-04-10 02:29:37 PM
How is Glenn Beck "Republicans?"

Although I feel for the family wanting to home school and all, the bottom line is, they are here illegally, they need to go home.  End of story..

2013-04-10 02:29:43 PM
Hey they could come to Glennbeckistan and be immune from the U.S. deportation laws.

/Provided they have the cash or gold to buy into the exclusive iron gated communist community with daily prayers to the Lord and Savior of the White Race, his holiness, Glenn Beck.

Cubans?

It is pretty easy to tell the different German family had not real life threatening issues at home but wants to homeschool and a Mexican families that come here live in dangerous conditions and cannot afford to feed their kids.

Facing over $10,000 in mounting fines and police escorting their children to school daily, the Romeikes were contacted by the Virginia-based Home School Legal Defense Association - which was looking to expand its work internationally -  and suggested the Romeike's resettle in Morristown, Tenn., and apply for political asylum.

People that refuse to send their kids to school should not be discussed in the same realm as political asylum.

Writes one commenter on the Home School Legal Defense Association Facebook page, "Even on a tourist VISA, the point is they came here legally, not sneaking across the border." But reports show the same is true for nearly half of the 11 million aspiring Americans seeking a road to citizenship in the United States today. But that doesn't stop conservatives from demonizing them.

Facts are for nerds.

See Mexicans. It would have been cool if you just came here on vacation and forgot to leave.

They were absent from home school the day they covered immigration.

But yeah, the American right are a pack of stinking racists, they know it, their base knows it, and the people that vote against them know it. Why they cry so much when it is pointed out is hard to understand.

2013-04-10 02:34:57 PM
Dr Mr. Beck,

If they are terrorists as you say and they are breaking the law, which you admit, why are they here? Why would we want them here?

2013-04-10 02:35:12 PM
Hmm... probably best not to get my blood pressure elevated over such things but... can't they supplement their children's education on their own lunatic time?

2013-04-10 02:35:25 PM
I wish I was surprised.

The GOP will use this to recruit an army of foreign white fundamentalists for their army of white power terrorists.

"oh shiat, our white protectionist policies are accidentally keeping out white fundamentalists, time to get poutraged!"

Uwe and Hannelore Romeike are devout Christians who want to home-school their five children. But under German law, attendance at an officially recognized school - whether a public school or a private religious or secular school - is mandatory.

Also, I would be ecstatic if this became U.S. law.

2013-04-10 02:42:29 PM
Is this called "n*gger rigging the issue" in GOP speak?

2013-04-10 02:45:52 PM
There could be "nothing more un-American than this," Beck said.

You heard it here first folks, this is officially the worst thing that can happen in the history of ever. It must be true, there is nobody that knows more about being un-American than Glenn Beck.

2013-04-10 02:51:31 PM
Deny their bullshiat asylum claim, and send them back to Germany.

And if we can get away with it, send Beck, Santorum, and Limbaugh with them.

Jebus wanting the snowflakes to only learn about Him trumps escaping rape and death at the hands of a genocidal militia as a reason to be considered a political refugee. Holy shiat.

Rick Santorum would count as A Republican, not as the entire Republican Party as Subby is suggesting.  Some Republicans very well might be championing this family and good for them, but some does not equal all.

It's like they don't get how this is hypocritical.

GOP Logic, but don't you dare call them racist:

White, German, Christian Family = Front of the line, don't have to follow the process
Latino, Christian Family = Get back Mexico!

They are mostly losing the domestic argument anymore, so now they are importing new white fundamentalists from abroad.

Yeah, good luck with that. The simple fact is that the USG effectively ignores illegal white immigrants, be they the 50,000 illegal Irish here, or the 75,000 Canadians here illegally, or this German family, who...BTW, do NOT face deportation.

/white is right
/brown goes down

I hear you.  Headlines should be far more exact here on Fark.  I don't know how this one got through the rigorous scrutiny.

So fleeing a country that has not one but two official churches paid for with tax dollars that are is abhorrent.  I guess Mormons don't get a nickel.

Why does the author bring race into this issue?

/I like south american immigrants because they're usually fellow Catholics. That, along with the awesome food they bring in. It's my own little bias, what of it?

Thank you Mr Obvious.  Pointing this out totally dismisses the hypocrisy of the numerous right wing ideologues mentioned in the article and their unnamed fans who apparently consider this specific deportation case to be something to care about.

And no, subby didn't suggest the Republican Party is behind support for this issue, "Republicans" is not necessarily defined as "the entire Republican party".

Disgusting, and completely unsurprising.

White, evangelical family fighting the forces of education? He'll support that.

Brown Catholic family, just wanting a job and a better life for their kids? lol gtfo hungry criminal terrorists.

True, but that's essentially just a prerequisite, the real reason is even derpier.

And I'm sure this family is currently on the run from the INS, and just a heartbeat away from deportation.

2013-04-10 03:23:45 PM
I am really surprised that they went for the political asylum thing. there are so many other ways for a white family from a friendly nation to get permanent residency.

I wish Cuba would just issue citizenship papers to every illegal immigrant in America. Dry foot, you're now legal. Boom. Done.

Hey, education is a continuous self-directed process. Sometimes we supplement it with instruction from others. But feel free to harp on that part of his/her statement if you like.

What I'd most like to know about the statement is: if the parental instruction isn't taking place on their time, on who's time is it taking place?

Ship these whack job fundies back to Germany.  We have enough ignorant white people in the country already.
