(AP)   Have a 10-month-old puppy you don't want and don't know what to do with it? Tie it to some train tracks in the desert, of course. (Spoiler: puppy now up for adoption.)   (hosted.ap.org) divider line 32

FTA:  Pina untied Banjo and detained the man, who said his family didn't want the dog and didn't know what to do.

Dude seriously lacks creative thinking skills.

At least take it to your nearest shelter. The worst thing that will happen will it will at least die a mostly painless death instead of becoming a horrific, bloody mess

If any headline around here needed a spoiler, this is certainly up there on the list.

How are people who are so irresponsible and incompetent that they can't take proper care of animals able to make it through the day without losing to Darwin right out of the gate?

Kudos to the train operator. Stopping a long train is no easy thing, and engineers can get in trouble for being late.

FTFA: Pina says he couldn't pursue charges against the unidentified man because he appeared confused and didn't understand what he'd done.

Awesome. I can't wait 'til I'm 78 or so. I can go on a murder spree, then claim senility.

:/

This. If you're "confused" about whether or not it's ok to tie up a puppy on the railroad tracks, then it's time to take away your drivers license, your guns and anything else you can use to hurt others with.

Clearly some identifiable Schnauzer in those dogs.  Not just some borish "terrier".

Yeah, it's a Schnoodle.

And yes, I'm embarrassed enough by that word that when people ask I just say Miniature Schnauzer and most don't realize the difference.

I saw a post from a guy down in the comments section that said:  "Tie the old guy to the train tracks and see how quickly he becomes lucid and understands what's about to happen."

I think that'd be perfect.

Simple solution. Tie the guy to the train track and see if he can recognize what he did was wrong then.

Saturday morning is probably my favorite morning. Wake up early, smoke a bowl, eat a healthy breakfast, then drive for a few miles through scenic, central texas hill country, with my dog in the front seat, the windows down and the music turned up, to a secluded disc golf course that winds for several miles over many elevation changes, creeks and wooden bridges. So quiet and still most mornings its almost eerie, something that could easily be prehistoric. This past Saturday their was a kitten on the side of road that the buzzards picked out of a plastic bag. Been in a kinda funk since then.

Murder spree? Hell, I was just gonna use that excuse for a speeding ticket or expired inspection sticker/registration.
