Haven't we been here before? Haven't we seen the same note on the door that says I don't love you anymore...

But isn't fear the Republican's main platform? "They're takin' your jobs, stopping you from 'freely expressing' (not allowing forced indoctrination of) your Christian beliefs, and the poor brown people are taking all the rich white man's money." Sounds like the fundraiser is doing it's job proper!

It's not just email, it's regular mail too. We've had to start screening my grandma's mail because of those assholes. I don't know how much money she sent to various organizations telling her Obama was going to put her in a home if she didn't send them $100 today to stop bill HERPDERP101.b, but she sent enough money to enough people that the mailman literally can't get all her mail in her box everyday because it's full of letters asking for more money.

For the record, I'm not saying this is all GOP/Tea Party stuff (although some of it is). A lot of it is scammers preying on elderly people.

Is repeat post a meta-commentary upon the nature of these things?

Yes... the "freedom community".

I don't think that excuses the GOP/Teabaggers for doing it.

B..b..but the senile elderly are the intellectual base of the Republican membership.  They are the clearest thinkers of the GOP.

I think I need more coffee. I totally read that as, "well other people are just as sleazy as the GOP so it is ok" when I posted that.

Ah it it Spring time. I can just smell the <strike>Arab</strike> Republican spring in the air. They are in full civil war mode, this is fun.

Pretty much the right's strategy since 2010: the mean blah guy is going to take your medicare/guns/social security/freedom/whatever and please give us $$$$$$$$$$ to fight it. PANIC!

Not a sound strategy for picking up new members though.

I hope my crazy right wing uncle is getting lots of these emails.  The only downside is that he will forward them to my dad.

Sounds sadly familiar. While house-sitting for my parents while they were away for their anniversary, I decided to sort their mail since there was so much of it. I ended up with the following categories: Personal, Bills, Catalogs, Derp. And the Derp pile was BIG. I confess that I threw some of it in the trash (tossing it all would have aroused suspicion). I was angry at these people for using fear to manipulate my parents into sending money in order to be protected from the nonexistent threat of brown Socialists out to destroy the Amurrican Way or whatever, and depressed to think that the fearmongering was working.

I didn't throw out the pic of that dreamy Mitt Romney, though. Messing with someone else's porn is a line you just don't cross.
