That's one thing I miss about South Carolina...  easy access to Waffle House.

I've got to drive 8 hours (or fly 1) if I want WH now.

You mean Offal House?

Holeee guacamole. I used to work at that one. Great drunk shift (11pm-7am) tips. Went back to visit a few years ago and found it scarier than I remembered. Dive motels, adult bookstores and long abandoned businesses (Palmetto Hardware, salud). I'm just surprised he wasn't shot *in* the place.

You don't want to know who else you might run into there.

Not surprising, that ain't the best neighborhood.

The Mexican restaurant right down the road is a dump, but pretty good eating. Haven't eaten at an awful waffle but maybe once or twice since I got out of college. When I worked nights I graduated to Dennys.

MMM . . .  Moons over my hammy

Waffle House isn't the problem around that area.

Would have been a bigger news story if someone had been to St. Andrews road without getting shot.

One of the many crappy sides of town in Columbia.

  2013-04-10 02:09:50 PM
Residents of Columbia know that if you don't want to get shot avoid these areas of the city:

North East. South East. Downtown. North West. West. South. North. Southwest and East.

Whenever I order my favorite thing on the menu, the waitress has never heard of it. So I have to point at it, in the lower lefthand side of the menu, on the same side as the hash browns.
