That's one thing I miss about South Carolina...  easy access to Waffle House.

Holeee guacamole. I used to work at that one. Great drunk shift (11pm-7am) tips. Went back to visit a few years ago and found it scarier than I remembered. Dive motels, adult bookstores and long abandoned businesses (Palmetto Hardware, salud). I'm just surprised he wasn't shot *in* the place.

You don't want to know who else you might run into there.

Not surprising, that ain't the best neighborhood.

The Mexican restaurant right down the road is a dump, but pretty good eating. Haven't eaten at an awful waffle but maybe once or twice since I got out of college. When I worked nights I graduated to Dennys.

7. A fluke in the space-time-continuum exists within Waffle House locations, where-in waitresses from across the southeast can appear to be working in multiple Waffle Houses at any one time.
8. Waffle House has more patience for drunks than your local bartenders.
9. The Federal Government bases part of it's disaster severity index based on Waffle House's - Red= Closed, Yellow = Partial Menu / Partial Power, Green= Full Menu/Lights On

How do you just "realize" you have been shot? I would think it would be obvious that if a bullet hits you you would know it immediately.

I used to work until 3am at a stop-n-rob next to a waffle house.  Get off work, go next door to have dinner/breakfast/whatever.  Drink lots of coffee.

Decided to screw wtih everyone, and brought in a half pound of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee beans, ground earlier that day, and got the waitresses to start making it for the rest of the shift.  Freaked some folks out....

Friend in college swore that he had heard about someone jizzing on the hash browns at one so we always joked to any guests with us to avoid the scattered covered and spunkered hash browns.

I like going to my local waffle house, where the cook knows that when I walk in, he already starts on my triple cheeseburger with hashbrowns scattered, smothered, chunked and covered. Then my doctor wonders why my Lipitor isn't working very well.... ;-)
