I hope it will be as ineptly hilarious as the first. Oh, I hear a mountain lion, better leave.

I'll watch it but I have a feeling it will be too self aware. The first one was lightning in a bottle.

It should have cost $2,000,000, but the director was given a 50% discount, so it only cost $1,000,000.  That's worth celebrating!

Hangin' out, hangin' out, hangin' out with the faaaaaamily, havin' ourselves a paaaaarty!

I'm sure the film was partially subsidized by the solar panel industry.

Hopefully the deserted roads of the sequel are filmed during lighter traffic than the first movie.

Why am I bizarrely excited for this? 'Birdemic' puts 'The Room' to shame as the greatest 'so awful it's amazing' movie every made, imo.

And I say this as an unabashed fan of the trainwreck that is the room and as a person who may or may not have high-fived Tommy Wiseau at a Boston screening.

OH GOD.

I've watched the original at a group gathering. WITHOUT rifftrax. (Granted, we were snarking the whole time, but still).

My thoughts exactly

The trailer makes me think the the director (whose name I forgot) has become aware of his awfulness and is trying to make lightening strike twice--which would ruin the entire thing for me. On the other hand, interviews with cast and crew make it seem like he's just stuck up his own ass and has no idea how bad the first really was.

I'm leaning toward self-aware self-parody. We're going to have to wait until some other tragically talentless hack makes the next honest-to-goodness awful film.

I bought it on Blu-ray two weeks ago, and I was astonished how bad it was.  The absolute worst part of it was the lead actor - did he even speak English as a native language?  His cadence was off for EVERYTHING.

"How much was that deal worth?"
"ONE  million dollars!"

I'm with the people thinking this one will be too self-aware to be as hilarious inept as the first. The director, actors, etc. have to realize that the only possible reason anyone may have clamored for a sequel is to laugh at them, and they may try to deliver  intentional comedy. And as we all know, bad comedy isn't even riff-able, it's why the MST3k/Rifftrax guys don't do comedies.

After the previous '10 worst movies' thread I DL'd Birdemic. I've watched it three times in the last few days- it's that awesome. No sequel could possibly come close.
When they cook the fish by putting the whole thing in a pot of water with a handful of seaweed I lost it.
BTW- how much water do those people need? They got a case at the first convenience store. Then they got several gallons at the gas station. Then they pull over to hike to a stream to get more. Swatting birds with coat hangers is thirsty work!
