The oil company conspiracy is peak oil and selling the public on the bogus idea that oil is scarce, while using a cartel to limit production. Oil and gas are not "fossil fuels," they are hydrocarbons that were made from the Earth like coal and diamonds. NASA found lakes of oil on Saturn's moon Titan in 2008. That pretty much cinched that it doesn't come from dead dinosaurs.
