Great. The NCAA will ignore this year's shiat reffing and say, "We must be doing something right!" Look forward to next year's hockey-ball tournament.

I used to watch most of the tourney in my younger days, but in the last few years, the combination of commercials every two minutes and overdone espn-esque analysis by the "experts" have me running for the remote. It's painful to watch.

/same with most sports, sadly.

No doubt.  I only watched parts of a few games but it looked rougher than any NBA game Ive seen this season.

Or it could be because of the excitement caused by Wichita St, FGCU, Etc.

Get rid of the media timeout at 4:00 and reduce the number of team timeouts so the last 5:00 of a close game doesn't take more than half an hour.  The end of Michigan-Syracuse especially was goddamned painful.

Oh, who am I kidding.  Just get it over with and have picture-in-picture commercials running the whole game.

I have a feeling it has a lot also to do with the availability of watching everything with apps and webpages. Faster mobile speeds, just all around more availability.

I still love the tournament and I appreciate the four-channel setup and how it makes every game accessible, but... My old man is telling me how he's back at the farm and can only get whatever is on CBS, and I see his point. It used to be regional coverage, you get what game was in your viewing area. Now if your team is on Tru, TNT, or TBS and you don't have cable or satellite you're kind of SOL. And I do kind of miss the way it used to be when it was all on CBS and you just got live look-ins. "For now we are taking you to Birmingham where the Mocs of Tennessee-Chattanooga are up three on the Georgia Bulldogs with just 11 seconds to play!"

/Yes I did my research

Yelling at CBS for waiting too long to switch to a competitive game was an enjoyable pastime.  I wouldn't trade their current four-channel system, but there was something enjoyable about watching an upset brewing via scorebox only.

A Fark Handle: and further ways to make money off their underpaid laborers student-athletes.

So is the NCAA going to pay all "student athletes", or only the starting 5 in men's basketball and the stars of the football team.

Does the women's lacrosse team get paid?
How about the men's wrestling team?

Less than 1% of NCAA DI basketball players will make a living out of playing basketball.

If the percentage still holds true from my NCAA freshman orientation back in 1990, the number quoted by the NCAA was that one-tenth of one-percent (0.1%) of NCAA athletes (all divisions) will earn enough money to be able to call a sport their only "occupation".

You've expressed my sentiment exactly.
