You know a while back, I was wondering if the big surprise we were waiting on was that North Korea had an ally or two. -We all know Un is crazy, but he went to school in Europe, so he can't be *that* stupid.

I mean, think about it... If North Korea starts something and gets wiped off the map, who's next? So why wouldn't Pakistan, Iran or whoever want to join in with them?

Don't be surprised if you see an announcement about some sort of alliance (with someone) in the coming weeks.

Yes, yes, I know there are a million reasons why they *wouldn't* join together, but it would certainly make an interesting "surprise".

Marine1: *sigh*

How do these idiots build these things? It's not like their populations all live in good conditions and go to school to learn scientastic things.

/barkeep... another suffering bastard.

It doesn't take a village to make a nuke. It only takes a dozen extremely smart people to make it. In a country of over 100 million I'm sure there are more than a few Einsteins even if 99.99% are complete illiterates.

As an FYI...in reality though a relatively large portion of the Pakistani population is actually quite educate and 'smart.

Archae hippy: m1ke: I love the way Obama pronounces "Pockisthan"

Päkistän; Pækisstæn

ĭräq; īræq

Lets call the whole thing off

Until he and the news anchors he's emulating start using local pronunciation of American place names, it's all a bunch of B.S.  Mostly, I just want them to pronounce "Marina del Rey" like the locals do.

Hate to break it to you but those computers have been letting you win. WOPR's old school; he plays for keeps.

Nurglitch: hdhale: Oh well now isn't this a fresh bit of hell on Earth.

Naturally the Indians will be conducting tests of a similar, but longer range missile soon I'm sure.  Because Medieval level cultures need superior range and firepower....

That's how medieval cultures roll. Might makes right.

Crap, there are elements in every society, not necessarily, the ones in power, mind you, that are stuck in medieval culture.

I'm getting older and i'm getting more cynical.

Oldiron_79: WMCB: Ok, who logged into WOPR to play "Global Thermonuclear War?"

A strange game the only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?

I routinely beat computers at Tic-Tac-Toe.  That the kid couldn't beat WOPR even once was a bit of Hollywood silliness.  I'll admit though it's hard to win a game when the director insists that it always end in a big screen flash to simulate a nuclear bomb going off.

Jake Havechek: Yeah, let's piss off India while we're at it.

What's wrong with a good old fashioned sabre rattling contest that might end a global nuclear exchange because some asshole's faulty radar equipment detected a missile launch that did not happen?

It is definitely not a good time to release 99 red balloons

Oh yes, Pakistan.  The country that harbored bin laden and his Taliban pals.  The country that Republicans got pissed off about when Obama authorized drone strikes in sanctuaries that probably existed with the full knowledge of the Pakistan government.

Hmmm...

It's like when one of the kids is being a total fark up and is therefore getting all of the attention, and then all of a sudden another child has to act out just because he is sick of being ignored.
