Of course they are. How else will they get enough Americans to visit Cuba so they can be outraged about Americans visiting Cuba?

FTFA:"Why would they spend money in a place where Cubans are being beaten and arrested for disagreeing with the Castros and the government?" asked co-host Steve Doocy.

"I mean, they could be beaten and arrested HERE and it wouldn't cost them any airfare!"

"The trip appears to be just a vacation going against a 51-year travel embargo," co-host Gretchen Carlson claimed.

Do not question the law.  Do not question the motivations behind the embargo.  Do no critical thinking of any kind.  Just assume that it's a black and white "us vs. them" situation and because we're us, we're automatically right and because they're them, they're automatically wrong.

It's easy!

Anyone actually surprised?

Cuba is a great place to visit, although Varadero's food made me violently ill. Holguin is nice.

How uppity of Jay and Beyonce.

i have heard that cuban food is boring, although what i had in miami was quite good. i am dying to get there some day, for at least a couple of weeks (i hear that it takes forever to get around by public transportation between cities there, so you need some extra travel days....)

That's exactly it.  They don't have the first freakin' clue why the embargo exists or how horrendously irrelevant and vile it's become.  They just know it has something to do with Communism, and that's all these proud patriots need to know as they wave their American flags with the Made in China label on them.

Some of the travel restrictions were lifted awhile back and Cuba had about 400,000 American tourists there last year. This nontroversy is stupid.

proteus_b: (i hear that it takes forever to get around by public transportation between cities there, so you need some extra travel days....)

Just hitchhike.

No, I'm not joking.  It's ingrained in their interpretation of a Communist society.  "I've got a car and that guy doesn't.  We're both going the same direction and I lose nothing by giving him a lift.  It's better for the entire country when people aren't stranded".

It's completely common and the penalties for committing a crime against a foreigner are harsh, so it's quite safe.  They'll enjoy the chance to attempt some English and if you throw them a few bucks for fuel, you're golden.

I wonder how much of their studio equipment and household items were manufactured in the People's Republic of China. You know where people "a place where Cubans Chinese are being beaten and arrested for disagreeing with the Castros CPC and the government?" Plus, Americans are pretty free to travel to the PRC. I've known quite a few people who've done so.

Oh. Right. The PRC are the good kind of communists because they allow American industry to exploit communist tyranny and oppression for profit.

Fox Nation shows Latinos as slack, handcuffed illegals. For the same story, Fox News Latino shows Latinos as white-collar peaceful protesters.

See that photo used on Fox Nation? Let's go t a 2012 story. First, here's Fox News Latino...

mediamatters.org

...and now the same story, same day, from Fox Nation.

mediamatters.org

See the wording with those images too? For Latinos, Obama is halting deportation for the undocumented children (think of what pops into your mind when you think 'children'), and the image is of a young woman (obviously not a child) so her kids can't be that old. The Fox Nation piece, however, says Obama went around your elected representative. And it's not 'children' anymore, it's "younger illegals" (which could be thirty year-olds instead of sixty year-olds... the image certainly doesn't look like a group of children to me).

I'd like to say this is rare, and the only examples I could find.

Want to see another one?

Only one of four provisions from Arizona was upheld by the Supreme Court! A defeat for Obama against those Republicans, Fox Nation reader (but don't mention the supporters of immigrant rights)!

But the other three provisions were struck down! A victory for supporters of immigrant rights against those Republicans, Fox News Latino reader (but don't mention Obama)!

Conservatives: this is how stupid Fox News thinks you are. Stop proving them correct.
