On the other hand, it might be one of our civilization's few redeeming qualities. Look at it this way. There's the respect for animals aspect. Quite a few of those cats are rescues or special needs, and their appeal (and their people) help out other animal rescue organizations. Beyond the adoption thing. There's the humor aspect that, somehow, works across cultures whose comedic sensibilities don't always translate well. People around the world connect emotionally with some of these cats.

There's nothing particularly wrong with internet cats. So I don't feel guilty about my Lil Bub fan status.
