I like to think that anybody capable of accidentally leaving $4000 in cash in a dumpster doesn't need it as much as I do.

impaler: Pretty generous finders fee for a meth dealer.

Seriously, who keeps money in bags, and loses them?

Years ago, my boss in the restaurant would put his bank deposits in a bag, change out of his manager's shirt, and pull a baseball cap on.  He'd walk out the front door, slurping a drink, carrying the bag, looking like all the other customers.  The weight of the money and change looked just like a to-go meal.

But, he never let himself get distracted enough to let go of that bag, until the teller had it.

It boggles my mind too how people can lose money like this. I have had different sums on me from less then what is mentioned in the article to many times what is mentioned and in all cases it was constantly in the front of my mind that I had it on me and was constantly aware of it. Me thinks if you lose any amount then ya didn't really need it apparently.

$4000 in a bag in a dumpster is a secret payoff, not an accident.

I read the headline rather hastily and at first I thought it said he wanted to thank him for getting his $400 back.
My subconscious probably automatically thought that to be the case considering it included, "turns it in to the police".
