I've often wondered about this. Is it an ever-increasing need for more attention? Or perhaps they get gaudy tattoos to somehow convince themselves they have something more to offer than just looks. I don't know.

I used to go to a cafe where there was this absolutely beautiful waitress. The uniform this waitress wore revealed her shoulders and upper back, and she had an amazing body, very toned and tan. I have a real weakness for women's backs and  I could never take my eyes off her. And then one day I sat down and she came over and she had this huge, tattoo covering one whole shoulder blade, some idiotic thing with wings.

I couldn't believe it--it was like someone spitting on the Mona Lisa.
