I like that I read the books. I bought them after season 1 was over and read them back to back. I'll probably start again soon. I know they can't put everything in the show, and somethings that are just subtly hinted at have to smack you over the head, but having both side by side makes the entire experience awesome.

Yeah, I think the Red Wedding is really gonna piss off my wife. May have to add this to Walking Dead, Hannibal, and Bates Motel as shows I'll have to watch alone, but this time because she's mad. usually it's because the show is "too scary".

They have to keep things interesting and speed things up. Also, there can be no "internal dialogue", thoughts in the head echoing through your speakers never really works. It comes down to the fact that sometimes they can't be subtle. I thought the line was hilarious, too...

Now, a sexual fantasy out of a less murder-and-death-involved fantasy author's work, that can be arranged with a minimum of fuss. I worked at a few Renaissance Faires as a teenager, and nothing 'sex + fantasy novel'-related could ever shock me again. Ever. The phrases 'Lloyd Alexander' and 'fur-suit' come into the conversation. Thumpings and humpings. Yes.

Once you've shooed that sort of thing back to their own damn tent, nothing short of Nadrak knife-play the likes of which David Eddings never dreamed or an alternative use for the Elvish alphabet out of Tolkein will even merit a raised eyebrow. Some people just can't help what they find interesting, I suppose, and ours is not to question, just to leave out the Lysol and the condoms and try not to giggle when you see them at work.
