Cool Story, Sis: Mom is ELCA Lutheran, Dad is Roman Catholic. They raised us kids in the ELCA as 'Lutherans with Catholic tendencies' because of the whole ordaining-women thing, but Mom still managed to use Dad's Cath-ness as an excuse to get out of lutefisk and Jell-O Salad. We were the only children in Sunday School who were spared both horrors. Between that and getting all these cool books and trading cards about the saints, and being the only kids with rosaries, I really had a great time in church.
