I never leave the house unprepared.1)OR Bivy Sack2) MSR Water filter3) Surefire firestarter and some powdered magnesium,4) Snickers Candy bars, jerkey and other dehydrated foods. light weight packed full of fat, salt and calories5)minimum I carry my mountain hardware outdoor bag6)Compass,7)REI whistle (audible for a mile)8)headlamp w/extra batteries9) book, something who cares. you need to keep your mind occupied10) Flares11) Small first aid kit, including Aspirin, penicillin, Ibuporfen, bandaids, Ethanol and Iodine wipes and suture kit.12) fixed blade Gerber knife and also a multitool and ducktape.That is my survival kit.
