So, the placebo ones are usually a different color, right?  Shouldn't anybody who got them realize something fishy was up when they saw twice as many of those?

Obama's America IS Canada. A bunch of socialist, free health care, gay loving, hockey fan, maple syrup mafioso types are now running this country -- with NO guns -- but they're very polite about it.

I've kinda wondered that when people of a religious nature use that line, are they denying the virgin birth?

When people on the more science end use it, I wonder if they're forgetting about artificial insemination.

pretty much.

There are a percentage of pill users who skip the fake pills anyway, knowing they're just placeholders to help you keep a schedule.

Either they go a week without taking a pill, or they back to back "live" pills to avoid getting their period.

With some of the 3 week types, you've got a good window on a missing pill as it is. As opposed to the mini-pill which is under 3 hours (except for one brand where it's 12 hours)

So you're saying I shouldn't punch out all 28 pills from their blister pack, throw the pills into a dark bag, then at random times each day reach in and grab one of the pills and swallow it without looking to see if it's white or pink?

Oops.

What's artificial insemination or virgin birth have to do with birth
control?  Both are forms of planned parenthood.

point.

I read it was the saying the only way to not get pregnant is abstinence from vaginal sex, which rebounds to me as the only way to get pregnant is through vaginal sex.

I don't know about BCPs for reasons of maleness.  But, I take one maintenance med. It's an off-patent drug, I'm okay with generics, and I'm supposed to use a mail-order pharmacy for highest insurance coverage.  As a result, the last four order of it I've gotten, all four bottles were from different makers, different colors, shapes, and sizes.  For the exact same prescription.

"This is different" isn't quite that cut-and-dried.

Abstinence works if you educate your kids with more then just, you can't because religion says so. If kids understood the ramifications of decisions then they could make better ones. This won't work all the time of course, but just telling kids 'No you can't because I said so and I have god on my side' does nothin but make them want to try it and find out why you're saying no.

When I was on the three week pill, across all different brands (probably at least 6 brands in the years I was taking them), the only real different was the packaging. They were all white for live, pink for fake and numbered on the packaging somehow. There are also 3 week brands that only give you 21 days and you are expected to take a week off yourself inbetween.

mini-pill wasn't much different, just no fake pills.

/implant now, much easier

A friend's college roommate was raised in a household like this. She honestly had no idea that penis in vagina could form babby, under certain conditions. As such, she slutted it up, thinking the only consequence was waking up in a different room.

I guess it's feasible that they had some kits where pink was normal and white was placebo, and some kits where white was normal and pink was placebo.  Maybe they were testing which ones had more market appeal, or maybe they were trying to save money on pink dye by only adding it to 25% of the pills instead of 75% of them.  Then some idiot filled a vat with the wrong kind of pink pills?

When I hear that some teen gets pregnant, I think, "Sex.  When you get pregnant, YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT."  Any couple or persons who cannot accept the inherent "risk" of pregnancy should not engage in sex.  And it is completely okay to admit that one is not ready for sex.  I won't think less of a human just because he used his big head instead of his little head.

I rather deal with teens admitting that they wanked off than having them come to me pregnant and afraid.

They have failure rates, but when you combine condoms and birth control, the failure rate drops down to a much smaller number because the combined failure rate is the product of the individual failure rates.

Single, don't get laid much and never lived with a woman, eh?

Once a month for about a week there is no need for a woman to take birth control pills, but in order to keep the routine of taking one pill every day at the same time manufacturers put in a weeks worth of placebo within the 28 pills.  They're a different colour.

In the lab, yes, but when you correct for actual use, effectiveness drops dramatically.

Applying it every single time seems to be the problem area for most people.
