Fun fact: If you want to raise some terror in a crowd you can shoot an arrow using a slingshot. You'll probably never hit a target but it's so random the terror works great by the third one. You could shoot them from a car and confuse the hell out of cops looking for bows.

I used to be a DJ at a strip club, and had to help with the occasional unruly customer. I took my lumps a couple of times, and dodged a longneck bottle once. What the aggro assholes had to worry about were the dancers. They were badasses with those high heel shoes. And we defended each other. Good group to work for.

Actually... with a couple of cheap and easy modifications, you can dear hunt with a slingshot and arrow...

You need the following:

Upgraded bands (black bands)
Ring from a key ring
2 zip ties
plastic golf tee
Epoxy

replace the normal bands with the black hunting bands

remove the plastic knock from the back of the arrow
coat the stem of the golf tee liberally with epoxy
insert into arrow tube where knock was

zip tie the key ring between the 2 arms of the sling shot taking care to center the ring evenly

wait 24 hours for epoxy

insert the arrow through the key ring, and "knock" the arrow using the golf tee
draw, aim, release...

I worked as a bouncer for a couple years when I was younger. It was great for dating, but the pay was mediocre and you really can't make a career out of it. Discovered most bouncers were guys going through LEO training and waiting to get jobs as cops.

Bunch of friends of mine always frequented the same club.
One day they got into a tussle with 5-foot Hispanic guy with a chip on his shoulder.
My friends being regulars (and good tippers) were instantly 'assisted' by the bouncers who threw the guy out. Maybe even literally kicked the guy out.
Guy comes back and does a drive-by shooting.
There were two bouncers out, and I can't remember if one died and the other wounded or one wounded and the other escaped.
This was some years back.
The whole street ended up filled with cops...and who should drive by? Same guy.

I mean, I've heard of the saying that the criminal always comes back to the crime scene, but that was ridiculous.
People started shooting to the cops who just arrested the guy without any fuss.

Go figure.
