First - These guys still have a raging hard on for the Cold War.

Second - Depeche Mode is coming to town? I didn't know they were still together. Is their newer music any good?

No.  It's as bad as the old stuff    ;)

Seel then stated that he wouldn't answer any more questions from Campbell. He also refused to answer the questions of a couple more Democrats on the floor.

Sounds like Fark Republicans too.

That would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic.

I wonder if Arizona's citizens are satisfied and pleased with the people they've put into office to represent them.

I suspect the answer is, "no", but there is a chance that people from Arizona have just lost their damn minds.

Came here to say this.  If you've been elected to office as a legislator and you're going to take to the floor to speak, on the record, about something (particularly if you're attempting to submit/endorse a bill), why--for the love of God, why--would you not actually research what it is you'll be talking about?  You know, so you won't look like a complete tool on a national level.  These people must be incapable of feeling shame or something.

You know, more often than not, the issues that seem to elicit these kinds of bumbling displays of idiocy are the same boogeyman scares that keep appearing in the FW:FW:FW: emails referenced only 3 articles down the Politics tab.  Agenda 21 is right up there with the Arms Trade Treaty in the list of absolute, 100% non-issues my Tea Party Patriot uncle loves to show how much he really knows nothing about.

Must be one of those new silent UN black helicopters, as you can hear they're still working out the bugs.

Black helicopters engage in extralegal surveillance and population suppression in the service of a shadowy one-world government like this; white helicopters engage in extralegal surveillance and population suppression in the service of a shadowy one-world government like that.

The first single was 'meh', but the second single Soothe My Soul is pretty good. Their last album was amazing with this gem. Saw them in concert a couple of years ago - one of the best I've ever seen. Can't wait to see them this September

I vaguely recall some conspiracy types during Obama's first term coming into the politics tab and saying something like

"So the million dollar question is: how did a virtual unknown like Obama manage to raise enough capital to fund a run for the presidency?"

The natural implication being of course that a shadowy cabal of global elite was behind him.

I won't go into birtherism as that is played out now.

Instead let's all take bets on the next major conspiracy theory to sweep the US.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it will somehow involve China.  Something like "Obama is cooperating with the Chicoms to institute communism in the US.  Just look at this website showing Chinese financial transactions where they purchase large amounts of the American Real Estate and Obama doesn't even raise a single protest."

I was reminded of that jackass on Hardball who kept jabbering about how "Neville Chamberlain was an appeaser!" until Matthews cornered him into admitting that he didn't know what Chamberlain had actually done, or what appeasement even meant.

The article doesn't say whether Rep. Gallego was making a "jerk-off" motion with his hand as he mentioned the black helicopters.

Some American is going to get shot at or worse near Korea and then the Republicans will accuse Obama of being a pussy. This will continue until Obama takes retalitory military action, at which point he will be plunging America into another war we can't afford and no Republican ever would attack so recklessly.

So today's one of those days that the UN is the Evul Black Helicopter New World Order Agenda 21 Illuminati Trilateral Commission Conspiracy.

Funny, I could have sworn that today was a day that ends in Y, which would make the UN the Strongly Worded Letter Gang that Can't Shoot Straight.

Because that would mean shaking their fragile worldview of things as they want them to be, encountering facts, and possibly even feeling some pain from that cognitive dissonance they carry around with them 24/7. More seriously, it might also potentially cost them voters, because they'd have to admit out loud and in the hearing of god and everyone that the liberal boogeyman they've been scaring them with (Obamacare, Agenda 21, whatever) isn't really as bad as they've been pretending, and in fact the average American might agree with a lot of it.

Look at how many people actually agree with 80% of the Affordable Care Act, unless it's presented in toto as "Obamacare." If someone sat down and explained this "Agenda 21" in its parts, probably most people would either agree with it, or not care (I haven't examined it at all, so I don't know which), but calling it "Agenda 21" makes it sound so oo bad scary New-World-Order-ish. And as long as they don't research it or read it, they don't have to explain it--hence, they can't be drawn into a debate on it that might force them to admit, "Well, it really won't affect anyone here in Arizona at all."

Unfortunately, polls in 2012 indicate more than half of Arizonans think their legislature does a fair-to-excellent job.

He didn't say he couldn't debate; he just said he didn't want to debate.  "Add my amendment and STFU."
