Reminds me of the addition I saw back when I was a Realtor. It was obvious the guy didn't know what a level was, or how to use a hammer (4-5 bent nails at every joint), leaks everywhere, etc...

When I called the listing agent she told me the guy was really proud of it & she'd tried to tell him that it'd never pass inspection & would most likely be torn down by whoever bought it but he refused to listen. Last I heard he was on his 4th-5th Realtor & refused to tear the POS down (nothing wrong with the rest of the house) & still couldn't get any offers.

Dude just needed a shed... how much are those prefab sheds down at the hardware store?  Looks like he spent nearly as much just in substandard wood.

I'm glad he ran those 2x4s flat for the roof.  That's a great way to save space.  And the untreated "foundation" with OSB.  I do see why he didn't put felt under the asphalt shingles - the extra weight would have been a problem.  Maybe the whole thing is an experiment in slow failure - between moisture, mold, rot, gravity, I foresee a beautifully slow decline worthy of another time lapse film.

Is this some kind of schadenfreude thread?  Shoddy workmanship is pretty low on the entertainment scale.

Yes, this is mostly enjoyable because of schadenfreude.  And I'm still going to look at it and laugh.

EatHam: Man, I used tar paper when I shingled the goddamn chicken coop.  That thing is crookeder than your mom's teeth.

Hey, leave my mom outta this!

yaknow, I have more respect for a guy like this who builds his own shiat, even if it is sub-standard, than I do for the ass-clowns who run down to home despot and shell out $3k for some shed, another $500 to have it delivered and another $500 to have it assembled then go crying to everyone about how they are always broke.  Maybe the guy did a crappy job but at least he had the ability to get off the couch and build what he needed himself, without over-paying for it.  This is the sort of thing Americans used to do.

This, sort of. I do respect the guy for putting the effort in, but I am laughing my arse off too.

//Would have offered him pointers.

If he did that, then put it where this shed is with no foundation, the home depot special would have sunk too.
